Great book!!

Just as good as the first time I read it 15 years ago!
Unlike Quarterdeck and Tenacious, this Audible book had no trouble at all with Immersion Reading with the book version. The writing and the audio stayed in sync throughout the whole book!

Great book, with a small problem.

Just like with "Quarterdeck", a problem with the immersion reading starts with the 7th chapter.
There is no problem with the Audible version, but if you like to read and listen at the same time, there is a problem.
The audio reports a download problem while the moving words keep going. By the time the audio starts again, the moving words are a whole page ahead!
I think it was originally recorded on tape and then transferred to digital without realizing that there was a problem.
You can work around this, but it is a little annoying to have to turn the page by hand. And read the smaller type while listening.
I first read this book 15 years ago and it is just as good as the first time!

Great story! But small problem.

The problem starts with the 6th chapter. The book immersion gets out of sync with the audio!
It's like they used a recording that had to stop to download the rest of the book!
For the rest of the book, the audio is always one page behind what is being displayed on the written page.
I like to read the book at the same time that I listen to it.
And of course, it is always disconcerting when the moving type stops one page before the end of the chapter, while the audio continues; but a lot of books are like that, for some reason.

If you can get past the parts where author has an axe to grind about global warming and the Democrats, it is an ok book.
The funny thing is that he seems to be predicting what Trump and the Republican congress is actually doing, 8 years ahead of time!
Only he is saying that it is a Democrat president who is doing the misdeeds.
I loved his "Black Tide Rising" books , so I hoped the story telling would get better, but it didn't!
I found myself, on my 5 mile walk, yelling at the author to shut the **** up!
Rant after rant! His favorite words sometimes were "Tofu Eaters" and "Bad boy! No biscuit!"

Good story, not so good reading.

The reader kept breaking up one sentence into 3 or more parts, like he couldn't get enough breath to finish the sentence.
