Very good novel and excellent ensemble cast performance. Humorist antidotes when Holmes learns about the 21st century. Francesca Ling reminded me of Elisabeth Rodger, a top tier narrator. The author left open the possibly of a sequel, which I look forward to.

Hated the Ending!

This is YA novel. However, not a bad storyline and likable characters. Writer was being a smart a** with his ending.
Virtual voice is getting better. I forgot that it was virtual voice during listening. Better than many live readers. With more than 4500 books in my library; I heard many excellent and many horrible readers.

Not Again!

Started interesting, but, then became a pot boiler. Typical villain book. Main bad guy reminded me of James Bond’s villain Blofed and the song: “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.” Couldn’t wait for the finish.

Reversal of Classic Characters

The animals talked to one another and narrated the story. Jack the Ripper, Count Dracula, and Frankenstein were the heroes. The local “Christian” minister was the evildoer. Enough said. Fun listen.

Excellent Cast Performance

Very enjoyable short story. Draws one into the storyline immediately. It seemed to go on for much longer than its 38 minutes. Well done.

Third Reading Version of Book

This was one of the first audio books I purchased from Audible, around the year 2000. It was read by Lloyd James. His reading was a five plus. It has disappeared from my account. It was replaced by a version read by Tom Weiner. Not a good choice (3 stars). Bronson Pinchot was okay.(3.5 stars). I really miss Lloyd James reading.

One for the good guys

I have listened to many audiobooks, (several thousand), over the last 22 years. This action/ thriller is a keeper. It may stretch believability with one major action of the protagonist, but, I loved it anyway. Plenty of action with a completely tied up ending. No major hanging threads. Will listen to again in future.

New Reader

When I first starting listening to “Wings of the Reaper”, I thought I had started the wrong book. Ray Porter was gone and Tom Taylorson was the new reader. It did not take long to decide that Tom was an excellent reader. His American, English and Asian Indian voices were very good. I will add his name to my list of top tier readers. The book had action and suspense while adding new characters to keep my interest. Good book.

Dark Pattern & Despair

The more Theo sank into obsession the greater his despair. The greater his despair the greater his obsession. The dark pattern, only the dark pattern and his despair. The first half of the book was interesting. (four-star rating.) A typical Theo slow start down the path to a new investigation. In the middle of the book he drops of into a self-induced hell. I was greatly disappointed! I hope the mystery woman, at the end of the book, provides a better story line for book 5.
