You Cannot Possibly Be Ready for this Series

Full disclosure: I'm within the last 10 minutes of Book 7. Not sure how I can convey how this series has impacted my life in the short-term. I've lost a LOT of sleep listening to the hijinks of Jason Asano. I've listened to these books in the shower, in the car, and while I should be asleep in the middle of the night. I know I appear melodramatic a tad, but I also write, and the level of craftsmanship here blows my mind.
The worlds the author has created are vivid, detailed, easy to vision. The characters are deep and meaningful. You will fall in love with these characters and hate some to their core. The story arc is a masterful work of interwoven mystery and carefully exposed shocks that will cause you to stop whatever you are doing to give thought. I've been in my recliner with a stiff drink in one hand and a Bluetooth speaker next to me for hours, preferring this story over anything on television.
In short, I've laughed. I've cried many times. I truly LOVE this story and you will too. Come, dive in with me and all the other tens of thousands who have listened to this story.

A Conclusion of an EPIC Series

I've loved all 12 books in this series. This final book did not disappoint. The narration is fantastic. The story is deep, rich, and thoroughly enjoyable. I have nothing negative to say here. Walk over to the deep side of this pool and dive in head first.

This story is an "edge of the seat" ride into a time travel version you've never imagined. The story is fast, has depth, with believable and meaningful characters. Ray Porter's narration makes you feel as if you're a third sibling and Joe is talking to you. Absolutely gripping. You won't be disappointed.

The 15th Book is as great as the 1st.

This series is top-shelf, the one all others must compare to. The story has layers and layers of depth, humor, intrigue, adventure, war, blood, everything! Plus, John Lee.... oh my gosh, so damn good. I've listened to this entire series twice. This is the benchmark.

This series has it all; adventure, suspense, humor, achievement. The characters are believable. The universe is deep and captivating. I've enjoyed all 3 books and cannot wait for the 4th in April.

A Masterpiece of Emotion

This morning I finished this audiobook. Hours later, I am still reflecting upon it all. Part of me feels I've lost a close relation and that I need to hold myself while waiting for the funeral. Part of me recognizes, but dares not celebrate, the muted victory thru death. I'm rocked. Simply rocked.

One day I want to write half as well as Benedict Jacka and use my voice to convey meaning half as well as Gildart Jackson.

Out of the hundreds of audiobooks in my library, THIS series is in the top 3. I will miss this experience but hope to rediscover this work after I'm too old to recall.

2nd book in this series is even than the first. Characters are likeable, enjoyable, easy to like, easy to hate. Well written. Well spoken. Good job.

More than I expected. A wonderful Treat.

I'm editing my previous review of this singular novel in a hope to shed light on the entire series. Having just finished, "Risen" currently the last book of this series, I'm suffering from a profound but unjustified loss. I don't wish to give anything away. Few books have given me a deeper emotional response than EACH of the books in this series. Benedict Jacka has written a wonderful dark masterpiece within these pages. Gildart Jackson gave an incredible performance time and time again. Thru Gildart's verbal representation I feel I was able to witness the meaning behind every written word.

I loved this series. You will too.

A New Take on Grim Survival
