Sixteenth-century Spanish gentleman Don Quixote, fed by his own delusional fantasies, takes to the road in search of chivalrous adventures. But his quest leads to more trouble than triumph. At once humorous, romantic, and sad, Don Quixote is a literary landmark. This fresh edition, by award-winning translator Edith Grossman, brings the tale to life as never before.

thoroughly enjoyable performance!
Revisado: 07-03-19
I enjoyed this book very much. it is a very long read, (40 hours) so be prepared. both the translation and the narrator made this a story that was hard to put down, and I am sad it is over now. but in the reading, I had so many occasions where I laughed out loud, it was that funny. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a well written and well read story, anyone looking for an escape from the stresses of life, something to entertain as you commute to and from work, in short, anyone looking for a good book.

Historia
God's identity is beyond what we could ever fully express in human words. But Scripture uses one particular word to describe the distinctiveness of God's character: the Hebrew word hesed. Hesed is a concept so rich in meaning that it doesn't translate well into any single English word or phrase. Michael Card unpacks the many dimensions of hesed, often expressed as lovingkindness, covenant faithfulness, or steadfast love. He explores how hesed is used in the Old Testament to reveal God's character and how he relates to his people.

I got so much out of Scott's story. it wasn't completely new to me, as I had heard him speak some years ago, but this book offered more detail and back story into the struggles Scott and team have encountered and overcome. Scott's redemption story is powerful, because it so vividly shows what Jesus can do with a willing heart.

Historia
The First World War laid waste to a continent and brought about the end of innocence — and the end of faith. Unlike a generation of young writers who lost faith in the God of the Bible, however, J. R. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis found that the Great War deepened their spiritual quest. Both men served as soldiers on the Western Front, survived the trenches, and used the experience of that conflict to ignite their Christian imagination.

In his inimitably entertaining and wonderfully witty style, he takes apart famous phrases and shows how you too can write like Shakespeare or quip like Oscar Wilde. Whether you’re aiming to achieve literary immortality or just hoping to deliver the perfect one-liner, The Elements of Eloquence proves that you don’t need to have anything important to say - you simply need to say it well.

Ridiculously delightful
Revisado: 10-05-17
Mark Forsyth has taken a potentially dry and boring topic and made it the opposite of dry and boring. Each chapter builds on the elements of rhetoric, and the careful reader will notice Mark's increased use of each technique as the book progresses, and each use feels like finding an Easter egg. In short, Mark's writing is ridiculously delightful. The frosting on the cake is Don Hagen's narration, which is not unlike Mark's writing.
