Historia
Mike Rinder’s parents began taking him to their local Scientology center when he was five years old. After high school, he signed a billion-year contract and was admitted into Scientology’s elite inner circle, the Sea Organization. Brought to founder L. Ron Hubbard’s yacht and promised training in Hubbard’s most advanced techniques, Rinder was instead put to work swabbing the decks. Still, Rinder bought into the doctrine that his personal comfort was secondary to the higher purpose of Hubbard’s world-saving mission.

Revisado: 11-06-22
Mike Rinder spent most of his life in Scientology, an organization birthed and based in hypnosis, deception, greed and malicious cruelty. He was both victimizer and victim. In This book Mike Rinder relives the story of imprisonment both physically and and psychologically. And he shares his rebirth with us, transforming a world of immense darkness and defeat into a world of light and victory beyond his wildest dreams. At times the story is so uncomfortable. But it is also a joy. This book is a must for the regular Scientology watcher or for anyone who has no idea what Scientology is all about. I strongly recommend this book. Brilliant!

Historia
Old Path White Clouds presents the life and teachings of Gautama Buddha. Drawn directly from 24 Pali, Sanskrit, and Chinese sources, and retold by Thich Nhat Hanh in his inimitably beautiful style, this book traces the Buddha's life slowly and gently over the course of 80 years, partly through the eyes of Svasti, the buffalo boy, and partly through the eyes of the Buddha himself. Old Path White Clouds is destined to become a classic of religious literature.

Revisado: 12-22-18
This is a beautiful retelling of the Buddha’s life and teaching. Mr. Ballerini’s voice is like music. Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh’s words reflect his quiet strength and ability as a great Dharma teacher.
It was an absolutely beautiful experience from beginning to end.

Mister Comey’s narration of his work makes it so authentic. I’m so glad that such an important work was not read by a hired voice.
Regardless of where one finds oneself on the political spectrum, I feel that Mr. Comey was absolutely honest. This is a very, very important work.

Spanish pronunciation is terrible
Revisado: 01-09-18
When will Audible hire a person who can pronounce Spanish properly? There Is absolutely no excuse for his book that has words or surnames in Spanish to be pronounced improperly. When the subject matter deals with a specific topic that involves a Hispanic culture, it safe to assume that the narrator will have to say some words and some surnames in Spanish. While the narrator has a great voice and delivery, he tortures the Spanish language. It’s inexcusable. The same thing happened with the audiobook for “War Against All Puerto Rican’s” by Nelson Denis. Dear also, the narrator absolutely destroyed Spanish words. As a Latino, I think insult to the fact that a huge company like Amazon and audible can’t find it in the budget to hire a narrator or an actor who can pronounce words properly in Spanish. It’s a real shame because I really enjoy Audible. It’s a great product, but when The subject matter requires pronunciation of a language other than English, there is no reason why audible or Amazon cannot hire a narrator who can pronounce the words properly. I am really disappointed.

Historia
Thelonious Monk is the critically acclaimed, gripping saga of an artist's struggle to "make it" without compromising his musical vision. It is a story that, like its subject, reflects the tidal ebbs and flows of American history in the 20th century. To his fans, he was the ultimate hipster; to his detractors, he was temperamental, eccentric, taciturn, or childlike. His angular melodies and dissonant harmonies shook the jazz world to its foundations, ushering in the birth of "bebop" and establishing Monk as one of America's greatest composers.

The definitive bio of Monk
Revisado: 12-27-17
Excellent book!!! Excellent story about Mr. Monk, his devotion to his family, his generosity to fellow musicians, his tenacity and dedication to his vision of modern music. The people who surround Monk like Nelly and Nica, aa well as his associates in the music business get a fair shake in this book. Mr. Monk is examined fairly and accurately in all aspects of his life. His “eccentric “ behavior and chemical imbalance are addressed clinically yet compassionately.
Every aspect of Monk’s creative life and musical output is completely discussed. This is “The Book” on Mr. Monk. Excellent. 1000 stars

Smart, hilarious, and incisive, the Liberal Rednecks confront outdated traditions and intolerant attitudes, tackling everything people think they know about the South - the good, the bad, the glorious, and the shameful - in a laugh-out-loud funny and lively manifesto for the rise of a New South. Home to some of the best music, athletes, soldiers, whiskey, waffles, and weather the country has to offer, the South has also been bathing in backward bathroom bills and other bigoted legislation.

From the internationally bestselling author of No god but God comes a fascinating, provocative, and meticulously researched biography that challenges long-held assumptions about the man we know as Jesus of Nazareth. Sifting through centuries of mythmaking, Reza Aslan sheds new light on one of history's most influential and enigmatic characters by examining Jesus through the lens of the tumultuous era in which he lived: first-century Palestine, an age awash in apocalyptic fervor.

Aslan does a great job narrating ZEALOT. Now I want to get the printed version so I can examine the sources for this work. While the narrative of Jesus's life was what first attracted me to getting this book, the story behind the rivalry between the Church Leaders in Jerusalem and Paul was enlightening. I've read the New Testament a few times and the contradictory teachings always left me scratching my head. The explanation of the Messianic era and the Roman occupation of that part of the world was really concise.

Historia
In 1950, after over 50 years of military occupation and colonial rule, the Nationalist Party of Puerto Rico staged an unsuccessful armed insurrection against the United States. Violence swept through the island: Assassins were sent to kill President Harry Truman, gunfights roared in eight towns, police stations and post offices were burned down. In order to suppress this uprising, the US Army deployed thousands of troops and bombarded two towns.

Great story, Mispronounced Spanish
Revisado: 08-18-16
This story is so important and everyone should hear it. But unfortunately, Mr. Berkrot's excellent rhythmic delivery as the narrator is seriously hampered by how badly he pronounces Spanish words. As a Puerto Rican, I was seriously annoyed by what seemed to me to be a lack of quality control by whoever it is who has the final say at Audible. Berkrot is a talented guy with great chops, great rhythm, and excellent dynamics. As for his Spanish pronunciation..."Que lástima." Is there any way he could go back and punch in or dub the Spanish words again? The subject matter is too important and Peter Berkrot is way too skilled to let the mechanical remain in its current form.
