Fun and short
Revisado: 07-25-23
This was a fun short listen. Yes it was corny, but I expected that from the beginning. The book was a delightful use of my time.

Historia
For more than 30 years, Fred Rogers was a beloved fixture in American homes. Warm and welcoming, he spoke directly to children - and their parents - about the marvels of the world, the things that worried them, and above all, the importance of being themselves. Dressed in his cardigan and sneakers, Fred Rogers offered a wholesome message of generosity and love that changed the landscape of television and shaped a generation of children. Kindness and Wonder pays tribute to this cultural icon: the unique, gentle man who embodied the best of what we could be.

Uplifting
Revisado: 05-04-23
I planned on only listening to the first half, the biography, but finished the entire audiobook. I’m glad I did! The entirety was uplifting and a reminder that, even as adults, we can all be a member of the neighborhood of Mr Rogers.

In this installment of his life in Shrewsbury, he has been 'favored' with the relocation of a famous, although aged and ill, crusader to his abbey. Of course not all is as it appears and Cadfael is soon deep into the mysteries of the Brother's past. So much fun!

Wait for the ending
Revisado: 09-09-18
When the story began it wasn't what I'd expected. I admit I considered not finishing, but am very glad that I did! They story all comes together in the final few minutes and is definitely worth your time. I'm very happy I listened all the way through as Ms. Washington's conclusion is one everyone needs to remember, especially a librarian such as myself.

Should have read earlier!
Revisado: 08-07-18
As a WWII buff, I've read more than my fair share of titles covering all areas of the war, but somehow I'd missed Chester Nez's wonderful memoir. His dedication to our country despite blatant racism (the Code Talkers weren't allowed R&R, couldn't drink in all places and were denied voting rights at home in the USA) is a testament not only to Mr. Nez but to our Native American neighbors and founding citizens. Read this one and you'll look at the definition of being a "Patriot" in a new and brilliant light. Thank you, thank you for your service and example Mr. Nez.

Psychotic, unbelievable characters in the end. 1st half was enjoyable; 2nd half drug on, and on, and on. I simply didn't understand the hype.
