Historia
Look, I've had it bad for the girl with all the curves next door forever. She turned me down in high school and since I'm not a total douchecanoe, I lusted after her all by myself in my shower, and we stayed just friends for years. Now she's the adorkable librarian next door, and I'm the star quarterback of the best pro football team in the league. So when she asks me to be her fake date to her all-girls school reunion, I am totally down to show her off to the mean girls who bullied her back then so they can see just how incredible she is.

Fluff and Smut in Equal Measure
Revisado: 08-10-24
This book has me squee-ing at all their adorkable interactions and just how far he was willing to go for her. I was already recommending everyone I could think of to read it before I'd even finished. (this is also one of those books where one may continuously be yelling at the characters. such things as "No! Why would you? Ergh!" and "Oh my Gd Y'all're both stupid! Absolute Morons! Why???" came out of my mouth more than a few times while listening. The smut was also very well written and had me going "Damn!" most of the time. (Seriously, it's so good. holy crap that man is In Love and basically worships her.)
The narrators did a fantastic job and if I didn't know better I would've assumed that the ML's VA had been replaced by Jensen Ackles playing Dean Winchester for the timbre of his voice alone when reading the parts of one of the ML's brother's.
All-in-all ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
If I could give more stars I would.

Historia
James Petika is living the single gay life he always wanted. A police officer in Chicago, he has a good job, good friends—and he’s two thousand miles away from his family’s expectations. He also has a problem: he needs a date for his sister’s wedding in Missoula, Montana, but his family has no idea that he’s gay, and he’d like to keep it that way. The solution? Daniel Bonafonte aka Lala Traviata, the queen of the Chicago drag scene.

This is such a a great book. definitely a bit of a comedy of errors but also deals with some heavier topics in a way befitting their gravity. Absolutely Wonderful. if there was a way to give extra stars I would. The Narrator did a wonderful job and was absolutely perfect for this book. ❤️

The love of Reading and Art in General
Revisado: 03-20-24
I've always been a fan of Gaiman's Make Good Art speech. My English professor posted it as additional material back in 2018 and it's one of the most inspirational things I've ever heard. I also find it quite comforting.
The fact that he also discussed the need for libraries and how no book is necessarily "bad" put the idea into words and I will be pointing others to it in future.
Thank you Mr. Gaiman!
