Historia
For anyone interested in foreign affairs, this book will catalyze debate, and not only for Mr. Huntington's concluding scenario for World War III. He sees how this could happen if the U.S. mishandles an increasingly xenophobic and truculent China. Chinese assertiveness, Huntington argues, rises out of its felt grievances against a relatively weakening West. After China, the gravest challenge to the West is resurgent Islamic identity.

Review of The Clash of Civilizations and the Remak
Revisado: 09-27-17
The book provides a good perspective on how the world is organized and how it operates, both at the present time and from a historical perspective. The author isolates certain scenarios and identifies many of the factors that contribute to the conditions discussed. The book was very enjoyable, but took some investment in time-well worth it though.

Historia
Levitt and co-author Stephen J. Dubner show that economics is, at root, the study of incentives: how people get what they want, or need, especially when other people want or need the same thing. In Freakonomics, they explore the hidden side of...well, everything. The inner working of a crack gang...the truth about real-estate agents...the secrets of the Klu Klux Klan. What unites all these stories is a belief that the modern world is even more intriguing than we think. All it takes is a new way of looking, and Freakonomics will redefine the way we view the modern world.

Historia
In this stunning audiobook, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous, and the most successful. He asks the question: What makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: That is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

Review of Incidents of Travel in Central America..
Revisado: 06-28-17
The book contained some good insight on the areas in question. The author provided a great level of detail of his journey, but I was looking for more of a historical writing of the region. It appears that I went in to the book with a different set of expectations than what I got from it.

Built To Last, the defining management study of the 90s, showed how great companies triumph over time and how long-term sustained performance can be engineered into the DNA of an enterprise from the very beginning. But what about companies that are not born with great DNA? How can good companies, mediocre companies, even bad companies achieve enduring greatness?

"We could see them now, hundreds of little black figures riding through the chaparral. A spent bullet droned overhead, then one unspent, and then a whole flock. 'Come on, Meester! Let's go!' We began to run...." The material for this remarkable history came from journalist and poet John Reed's experience as a war correspondent during the Mexican Revolution.

Insurgent Mexico Book Review
Revisado: 01-30-17
The storyline was a very informative one. It provided a great level of detailed information, which made me feel like I was there experiencing the situation first-hand. The narrator could have done a better job pronouncing the different Spanish names of people and places. The mispronunciation of words detracts from the meaning and flow of the story (at times). This is an excellent book nonetheless.

Historia
The life of Mexican revolutionary Emiliano Zapata was the stuff that legends are made of. Born and raised in a tiny village in the small south-central state of Morelos, he led an uprising in 1911 - one strand of the larger Mexican Revolution - against the regime of longtime president Porfirio Diaz. He fought not to fulfill personal ambitions but for the campesinos of Morelos, whose rights were being systematically ignored in Don Porfirio's courts.

Emiliano Zapata Feedback
Revisado: 12-31-16
The storyline of this book provided a good historical perspective on the life and actions of the infamous Emiliano Zapata. The narrator's pronunciation of most of the names and places in Mexico were horribly done, to the point that I was left trying to figure out who or what the author was writing about. This mental catch up took away from me enjoying the book as much I expected or wanted.
