Great book on the bright side of sobriety
Revisado: 04-26-22
So, let’s get the bad out of the way. This tries kinda half-heartedly and unconvincingly to be a program of recovery. The journal prompts are boring and don’t really lead to any real powerful insights. I skipped them.
But, what the book does really well is lay out a strong case for sobriety for people on the fence and give an outline of what a joyful, well-rounded recovery will look like. What I always missed in AA was a real look into why I drank (resentment, being broken, and lack of a higher power were not my problems). Also, I am the kind of person that feeds off of positivity, success, and happiness. Sobriety as the absence of alcohol is not enough of a motivator. But leading a life full of physical vitality, connection, balance and growth appeals to me. As the author says, we are lucky because alcohol led us to a place of change and can awaken you to your true calling and potential. Good read!

Historia
There just isn't enough time for everything on our to-do list - and there never will be. Successful people don't try to do everything. They learn to focus on the most important tasks and make sure those get done. They eat their frogs. There's an old saying that if the first thing you do each morning is eat a live frog, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you're done with the worst thing you'll have to do all day. For Tracy, eating a frog is a metaphor for tackling your most challenging task - but also the one that can have the greatest positive impact on your life.

Classic wisdom
Revisado: 12-27-16
I read this book years ago and the lessons are still fresh! I have a terrible habit of not following through on key tasks. This book is simple, but sometimes it's not that you need to learn a new skill as much as you need to remember the reason for focuing on an old one. Good book!

I love the insights in this book. A must read for those working with the law of attraction. The narrator was clear and upbeat and the chapters were laid out well. I did not find the section on tapping useful because the technique has never been helpful for me. But, that is a tiny critique. Overall, great book!
