Historia
Earthquakes rock the planet, revealing massive metallic objects and vast subterranean graveyards. One such location is in the Arizona desert. Scientists believe this incredible discovery may hold answers to the origins of man, but when the site is suddenly shut down due to seismic activity, one researcher knows she must return. Assistant archaeologist Rebecca Duccati sneaks into the compound alone, and will have to dig deep to find clues in these strange underground caves and tunnels.

Pseudo pandemic, pseudo George Floyd...
Revisado: 03-21-24
I read books to detach from reality. This book has a really cool premise but the rest is close to home but not quite. Like they are always worried about PPE gear and there is a reference in it basically George Floyd but with names changed. This really takes me out of the story. Like I am so tired on getting every author's take on how they viewed these times. I am not going to give this a bad score simply because of that, the performance is top notch, but I am having a hard time getting through this one I keep rolling my eyes.
Another note is that some of this content feels almost written by AI. It doesn't affect the story as much as the flow. How many times can you describe different things jouncing ya know?

Good finish to the series
Revisado: 08-03-23
This book was less repetitive than the second book. I really wanted to love this series but every time they need something to happen it's a bit too easy. Like, "Oh, we could have done this the whole time I just forgot about it" gets old. There isn't a lot of deep thinking needed on this one but there is a good twist toward the end that was really fun if you like twists.

Repetitive plot lines and dialogue but good story
Revisado: 08-02-23
I'm still in the series going to grab the third one but I was a little annoyed by the repetition. Like how many times can you do the whole 'spontaneous action cuts off dialogue' when they're about to say something important. I really like the aliens and visuals I get when listening to this book, would make a really cool movie!

Really well paced and narrated
Revisado: 07-30-23
There are no huge aha moments or big twists or turns, this is just a really well written story with amazing narration. The story is really great I like the imagery and character development and mystery in all the right places. Will be looking for more books from this duo.

Historia
Cole Riker is a free man. Or close enough. He no longer has the weight of his past hanging over him, threatening to put him away for the rest of his days. All it took was finding an unknown alien lifeform and agreeing to escort it back to its homeworld. Except his newfound luck doesn’t want to last. Gray doesn’t remember how to get home, and all the evidence says his people abandoned him after an unknown threat came calling. And that’s only the beginning.

Not great not awful
Revisado: 07-17-23
The story is a bit cheesy and cliché at times. The characters are really sensitive so there's always someone butthurt over something but that's pretty realistic. I have a weird issue with this one - the author uses his diaphragm to do some of the noises like Cecilla? or whatever and one of the other characters - the voice sounds to me like it's the super nice dullard from that show 30 Rock and I can't shake it, hard to stay engaged in the story. But if I am being objective I don't want to give it bad rating cause I am having issue with narration so this is honest appraisal of story itself.

Historia
This forest isn't charted on any map. Every car breaks down at its treeline. Mina's is no different. Left stranded, she is forced into the dark woodland only to find a woman shouting, urging Mina to run to a concrete bunker. As the door slams behind her, the building is besieged by screams. Mina finds herself in a room with a wall of glass, and an electric light that activates at nightfall, when the watchers come above ground. These creatures emerge to observe their captive humans and terrible things happen to anyone who doesn't reach the bunker in time.

It wasn't amazing but a good story
Revisado: 07-13-23
Due to the reviews and the descriptive scenes, the foreshadowing really stuck out to me and made the ending obvious. After the big reveal I thought there was going to be another big curveball based on reviews but there wasn't.
I really liked the descriptive writing but there were some chances where you could have really added some darker material to sell the story but the author never really moves past anything skin deep. I would definitely consider this PG13.
The narrator was AMAZING. Going to look for other books she has narrated.

The series as a whole is perfection
Revisado: 07-06-23
When you waiting a long time for that new book, these last few seemed a bit hollow. But I just went through and listened to the entire series start to finish and the pace gives it more of a grand finale feeling so I would encourage anyone who loves this series as much as I do to go back and listen through start to finish and it's quite a journey. I didn't know this was the last book, I was just wanting to refresh my knowledge on series before listening so it did hit harder for me. That being said, I still would love if he had left it more of a cliffhanger so there was a possibility of finalizing some of the storylines in the book in the future. But he wraps it up with a nice tidy bow for those who crave closure. Definitely my favorite audiobook series by far,

The characters are great but the plot does feel like it is stretched a bit thin. I'm all for a little mystery but hopefully the plot picks up a bit in the next book.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

Narrator made this story work
Revisado: 10-06-22
Man after reading the reviews I thought this was going to be epic. I am not going to ruin it for anyone but the ending is ridiculous. I think this one was written for maybe more female readers cause I can't see how you could forget the stuff she has forgotten throughout this story it just doesn't make sense to me.

Something has been living in the oil and it's about to give birth to the greatest threat humanity has ever seen.

Besides the cursing and urinating...
Revisado: 08-09-22
This was a pretty good listen. Nothing amazing although I did like the Black and how it was described and portrayed. The dialogue was a little bit juvenile even for myself. Also, for some reason the author wants us to visualize the urine actually jetting out into pants when scared but it was just kinda funny like uhm okay like wait was it a steam or a dribble let's break this down even further lol. No but seriously, good book overall but it's like a made-for-tv movie, probably won't be listening to this one again but would listen to a sequel in right mood.
