Historia
As long as there’s hope of finding life, no mission is too dangerous for Meg Jennings and her colleagues in the FBI K-9 unit. But locating the wreckage of a hijacked private plane high in the Elk Mountains of Colorado is treacherous in a multitude of ways—some of them impossible for even a seasoned team to predict. The plane, carrying the board of directors of Barron Pharmaceuticals, crashed on a rocky peak and was cleaved in two. Perilous weather means the rescuers have to ascend on foot, with their dogs unleashed in case of falls.

Too many details
Revisado: 01-01-25
This author's books always contain details on whatever the topic or environment of the book is....I feel like the last book started getting too mired in details, and now this one went way overboard. Details about climbing, details about altitude sickness, details about rocks, details about equipment...I felt like half the book was details about stuff, I actually stopped listening and returned the book. This is supposed to be fiction, not nonfiction...please have more of the book be the fiction plot and characters and less all of the details about everything! I have so far listened to every book in the series, but have gotten to the point where I won't continue. I get enough nonfiction in real life....

Attorney Dani Rollins is bullish in the courtroom - pushing judges and prosecutors to their limits in defense of the innocent. So when she meets Teddy Thorne, a mentally challenged teen accused of selling drugs, Dani knows she’s got this in the bag. She can easily settle the case with a couple of court appearances. But when prosecutors move for an adult felony conviction, Dani suspects Teddy’s being used as a pawn in a sinister game. Extremely unlikeable heroine
Revisado: 08-26-22
The heroine in this book is extremely unlikeable. And her behavior would never be tolerated in a real courtroom. I just couldn't feel like rooting for her. So many things in this book seemed unrealistic and like caricatures. The book itself moves a bit slowly as well. I got 4 hours into it hoping it would get better and finally gave it up. Wish I could return it but I waited too long to listen to it. Narrator was okay.

Historia
An online video of a girl clawing at the ceiling of her own grave could be the worst thing FBI forensic psychologist Zoe Bentley has ever seen. Perhaps even more disturbing is the implication of the video’s title: “Experiment Number One.” Zoe and her partner, Special Agent Tatum Gray, work as fast as they can to find the monster behind the shocking video, but soon another one shows up online, and another girl turns up dead.

Good story, despite annoying accent
Revisado: 11-19-19
This is a pretty good story, I wouldn't totally rave about it but definitely one of the better ones. My one complaint is the narrator, who would actually be an excellent narrator except for some reason she decided to give Zoe this absolutely annoying, over the top Boston accent. Yes, Zoe is from Boston, but it was even mentioned in the dialog that she only had a very slight accent. This accent is like, let's do a super obvious, obnoxious Boston accent that nobody could possibly miss and that is extremely annoying. It's like the narrator thought, "I have this great Boston accent I can do and I've always wanted to do it in a book and I finally have an opportunity, oh hooray!" No, it's not great, it's super annoying. Plus she can only do it in a monotone, so whether Zoe is angry, sad, upset, it's pretty much the same. Which is a shame because I think the narrator does excellent in the rest of the book. I'm surprised more reviewers have not mentioned this. Anyway, I've gone on enough about this. Ok, so the book is actually not bad and I may listen to the next one in the series, if.... you got it.... I can get over listening to that accent.

Historia
Everybody loves Ian Ludlow’s action novels—especially the CIA—because the spies know something the public doesn’t: His fictional plots have a frightening tendency to come true. Ian is in Hong Kong with his resourceful assistant Margo French to research his wildest story yet—a deadly global conspiracy by Chinese intelligence to topple the United States. What Ian doesn’t know is that his horrifying scenario is happening and that the Chinese mistakenly believe he’s an undercover superspy assigned to foil their scheme.

Book okay for what it is, narration awful
Revisado: 05-26-19
If you realize this book is a tongue in cheek spy novel type, I assume using stereotypes on purpose, and has quite humorous situations and dialogue and action scenes that defy credibility....on purpose....ok, that's what I'm assuming....then this book accomplishes what it set out to do. Come on people, take it for what it is, and don't take it seriously! It is quite entertaining and even clever at times. That said, the narrator is HORRIBLE. Melodramatic much? The worst is the voice of Margo French. I read the first book and the voices in my head were nothing like how this narrator reads it - so overdramatized. It was extremely distracting and took away from the enjoyment of listening to the story. If I hadn't already purchased this I would have stopped and read the book instead.

Historia
In 48 hours, the Earth will be hit by a coronal mass ejection (CME) from the sun, a "Carrington Event" that has the power to shut down and possibly destroy the world's electrical infrastructure. To try and prevent permanent damage, everything goes dark prior to the hit: Global communications are shut down; hospital emergency generators are disconnected; the entire internet, media broadcasting, and cell phone systems are turned off. Will the world's population successfully defend itself in the wake of the CME, or will mass panic lead to the breakdown of society as we know it?

Too repetitive
Revisado: 04-26-19
This author's book "One Second After" is one of my favorite books of all time so I thought this one would be good too. Not so - it is very repetitive, describing CMEs and other scientific factors of the disaster over and over again, I am way into the book and they are continuing to talk about "what's coming" and it hasn't even happened yet. When will the plot actually start? They just keep talking about the coming disaster over and over and describing it over and over. No characters development, no protagonists, not much of a plot other than disaster is coming and let's keep talking about it. I can't finish.

Not very interesting
Revisado: 04-26-19
I am surprised at all of the great reviews on this one - if I gave it a subtitle I would call it "The Ocean Liner: A period piece consisting of random stories about random people, some interesting, some not." There was not really a plot, just seemed like a bunch of random scenarios/stories with a bunch of the passengers. Just when it started getting interesting, it would start getting boring again. I thought it would be more interesting because it included famous historical characters, and that did help at times, but not enough to make me want to finish the book. Maybe it got better if you stuck with it long enough, but I do have a motto, "Life is too short to continue listening to/reading a boring book." I stuck through 5 chapters and gave up.

Narrator way overdramatized
Revisado: 07-03-18
The plot of this book was a little over the top silly, like seriously, this would never happen, but hey, it's fiction, so I can live with that. What really prompted me to write this review was that the narrator way overdramatized the reading. I can't even explain it. Did this guy go to overacting school or what? The first chapter it was so off-putting I was thinking,"Is he going to read like this through the whole book? This is going to be really distracting." And I almost didn't write this review anyway but I just HAVE to say that one of the "bad guys" in the book, the attorney named Day, as the book went along, the voice the narrator uses totally sounds like Hedley Lamarr in Blazing Saddles. Tell me he doesn't!

Boring
Revisado: 09-01-17
Just not a very interesting book. Agree with other low reviews that give more detail. Too much unnecessarylegal detail, boring characters, boring plot, not a likeable main character, narrator's inflections are kind of annoying.

Hard to find a good audio of the Bible
Revisado: 08-08-17
I personally have found it hard to find an audio version of the Bible that is in an easy to understand translation, does not have distracting sound effects or music, or readers that are either distracting in some way or boring or difficult to listen to. I may be picky about this kind of thing, but that has been a challenge for me. This one is great! I finally found an audio New Testament that has good readers, no distracting noises (it does have sound effects and music but they are tasteful and not over the top or distracting for the most part) and most of the readers are easy to listen to.

Historia
Buddhist monk Wayan Bagus lost his island of solitude and wants to get it back. The island was about 200 miles northeast of Samoa. It had a mountain, beaches, a rainforest, and a volcano. And now it's gone. Poof! Vanished without a trace. Brilliant and boyishly charming Emerson Knight likes nothing better than solving an unsolvable, improbable mystery. And finding a missing island is better than Christmas morning in the Knight household.

Series not as good as Stephanie Plum
Revisado: 07-26-17
This series has enjoyable characters and dialogue between the characters very similar (almost identical?) to the Stephanie Plum novels. That I liked. What's different is the science fiction/James Bond element - too many science fiction-y type details taking up real estate in this story that I found kind of boring. Just not my thing. I listened through the whole book, enough to keep me through the end, but found myself fast forwarding through some of the action scenes and explanations of science fiction, science fact type stuff. The first book was like this too, I tried the second one wondering if they'd both be like that and they were. Probably won't do the third. Too bad, because I do like the characters. Just not the setting.
