A Fantastic Book For Seekers - Thank You Eckhart
Revisado: 08-26-16
A great book about a contemporary spirituality - that aligns quite nicely with psychology I might add. Best part is that it is narrated by the author. -yes, this book changed and helped me.

Historia
At once elegant and riveting, Sync tells the story of the dawn of a new science. Steven Strogatz, a leading mathematician in the fields of chaos and complexity theory, explains how enormous systems can synchronize themselves, from the electrons in a superconductor to the pacemaker cells in our hearts. He shows that although these phenomena might seem unrelated on the surface, at a deeper level there is a connection, forged by the unifying power of mathematics.

An Excellent Science Audio Book
Revisado: 11-29-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book to friends interested in broadening their knowledge of curious sciences. This book skirts the pictures, formulas and diagrams which can be frustrating to listeners, but still delivers a deep understanding of the subject.
Sync is a terrific counterpart to James Gleick's Chaos. Strogatz and Gleick Both hint at the profound implication that everything relates to this self organizing property.
Any additional comments?
I know I'm giving all 5 stars to this review. I'm just a layperson, and this book did not fail to deliver thought provoking, real, material in an understandable way. Maybe a science major would have a lesser opinion, but I'd still feel we would agree it was a good audio book.

Historia
In these selected essays, written between 1947 and 1977, Dr. Frankl illustrates the vital importance of the human dimension in psychotherapy. Using a wide range of subjects—including sex, mortality, modern literature, competitive athletics, and philosophy—he raises a lone voice against the pseudo-humanism that has invaded popular psychology and psychoanalysis.

Unexpected Benefits
Revisado: 11-12-12
What made the experience of listening to The Unheard Cry for Meaning the most enjoyable?
I purchased this book because it had the word "humanism" in the title. But, the book is not about Humanism, the brand of morality that goes with atheism. It was about being-human and finding purpose, meaning, and happiness.
THE TRULY STRANGE THING is that after reading/listening to this book to the end. I didn't feel the urge to drink alcohol anymore. THE URGE DISAPPEARED overnight and I was fixed. The book has nothing to do with urges or drinking, just happiness and meaning.
This book shines a tiny light on those big questions "why am I here?", "what should i be doing?".
If you’ve listened to books by Viktor E. Frankl before, how does this one compare?
I believe his other books have slight religious overtones. This one does not.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did have an extreme reaction -though I wasn't looking for it. I was interested in humanistic morality, but found information on happiness, purpose, and meaning.
Any additional comments?
This book is a collection of essays. Some of the chapters repeat information, and some chapters stray onto tangent topics. But the information is great.

Historia
Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion and a life-long committed Darwinist, abridges and reads this special audio version of Charles Darwin's famous book. A literally world-changing book, Darwin put forward the anti-religious and scientific idea that humans in fact evolved over millions of generations from animals, starting with fish, all the way up through the ranks to apes, then to our current form.

Dawkins Perfectly Narrates This Home Run Text
Revisado: 04-25-12
Would you consider the audio edition of On the Origin of Species to be better than the print version?
YES. If you're a non science student, it can be difficult to plow through a large science text like this. Now that Dawkins reads it so well to you, anyone can just sit back and SOAK IN Darwin's ground breaking revelation.
What was one of the most memorable moments of On the Origin of Species?
A person can actually keep pace with Darwin's realizations that the other naturalist of his time were flat WRONG.
What does Richard Dawkins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Richard Dawkins obviously feels strongly about Darwin's work, he brings energy and clairity.
Any additional comments?
For me, it would have been a tough time reading a tome like this. It would have sat half read for months or even years. Having it narrated by Dawkins was a treat and the book was consumed in 3 days.
