Historia
It turns out giving up your "right" to be offended can be one of the most freeing, healthy, simplifying, relaxing, refreshing, stress-relieving, encouraging things you can do. It's a radical, provocative idea: We're not entitled to get offended or stay angry. The idea of our own "righteous anger" is a myth. It is the number one problem in our societies today and, as Dallas Willard says, Christians have not been taught out of it. But what if Christians were the most unoffendable people on the planet?

The truth that’s life changing
Revisado: 06-07-23

The author really brings into focus the reality of Jesus’s words and example by providing present day examples of the power of being unoffendable. What if we really practiced loving our neighbors and our enemies instead of taking sides? What if the treatments for PTSD started with this principle?

Historia
Born in the Old City of Sana’a, Yemen, to a pair of middle-class doctors, Mohammed Al Samawi was a devout Muslim raised to think of Christians and Jews as his enemy. But when Mohammed was 23, he secretly received a copy of the Bible, and what he read cast doubt on everything he’d previously believed. After connecting with Jews and Christians on social media, and at various international interfaith conferences, Mohammed became an activist, making it his mission to promote dialogue and cooperation in Yemen. Then came the death threats....

This is an eye opening story of the ongoing civil war in Yemen, and the amazing interventions of friends and their connections to help a man escape to tell his story. It is a message of hope.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

Good Story - Lots of Language
Revisado: 12-04-19
Great to hear it in the authors own voice and language may be appropriate for the storyline but would be rough on young ears. Learned a lot about native Alaskan culture which was the purpose. Good read for the right audience.

Historia
It all began with a correspondence between two quite different women: 28-year-old Sara from Haninge, Sweden, and 65-year-old Amy from the small town of Broken Wheel, Iowa. After years of exchanging books, letters and thoughts on the meaning of literature and life, Sara, mousy, disheveled, who has never been anywhere in her life--has really lived only for her work in a beloved bookshop, which has just closed its doors for the last time--bravely decides to accept her unknown friend's invitation to visit. But when she arrives, she finds her house empty, the funeral guests just heading home. . .

Loved the main character
Revisado: 02-06-18
Loved the main character and the narrator's rendition of a Swedish accent. However, Iowa is not in the southern part of the USA, so using a southern drawl for many of the supporting characters just grated. The narrator is very capable, this just seemed the wrong project for her.

I just finished listening to the wonderful story of H.K. and Jim. It was a fantastic story of an unlikely friendship. How amazing that Jim "just happened" to go into Mrs. Winters restaurant on that particular day to meet a very special boy. I loved it!

But he was soon overcome by the herd of rambunctious, resilient children.
