Don't miss this gripping, emotional prequel to the hit Netflix series Stranger Things! The never-before-told backstory of the beloved Dig Dug maven, Max Mayfield, written by New York Times best-selling author Brenna Yovanoff. This must-listen novel, based on the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things, explores Max's past - the good and the bad - as well as how she came to find her newfound sense of home in Hawkins, Indiana.

Best of the Stranger Things Books as of 2022
Revisado: 07-18-22
if you're looking for more of Stranger Things after finishing the show, this book delivers. While some of other novels were fun (Darkness at the Edge of Town, Rebel Robin, Hawkins Horrors), this is the only book so far that retains the "kids fighting monsters" aspect and feels like the show. The book combines a retelling of season two from Max's perspective with events from her life before Hawkins. While you're not going to get any surprising revelations, you learn more about Max's homelife and her dad and it's interesting to see how she thinks of the main party (especially Lucas) as they slowly bring Max into their group. I wish Netflix would put out a similar POV book for each season; like Steve for season one, Robin for season three, and Eddie for season four!

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Good, Good, Good!

Exciting, funny, and surprising throughout: Project Hail Mary is a fantastic story for hard sci-fans that I enjoyed even more than The Martian. Combined with fantastic narration by the incomparable Ray Porter and this is a book I'll be returning to regularly. In fact, I just finished my first listen and have started my second while writing this review. Highly recommended for fans of Dennis E. Taylor's Bobiverse books - Porter's voice combined with the story content feels like coming home.
Do yourself a favor and don"t expose yourself to any spoilers beforehand as half the fun are the surprise twists and turns in the story as the main character explores the situation they find themselves in and slowly remembers how they got there.
