As usual, excellent story, but hard to love a main character that sounds like parody. Terrible, speed is wonky no matter how many times I adjust it. I’ve tried multiple times and I just can’t. Gonna have to read the hard copy. Ick

I can’t wait to read his other books. I loved the book’s narrator (the main character) the plot kept me thinking, the reader of this book did such a good job. I liked everything about this.

The cats tho. Why?

Why are the cats’ voices done in some weird approximation of… I’m not even sure what they were aiming for here. Italian gangsters? Inner city gangs? I turned it off when the cats started talking because it felt… icky. Yeah icky. Like listening to a David Duke speech.
This was pleasant fluff to listen to without having to pay a lot of attention but no thanks on the casual, hopefully inadvertent, condescension in that accent

Never reading anything else from this author again. I have enjoyed a few other of his books but getting gutted by the at the ending was a slap in the face. All of these characters were scum and then he killed the only decent soul in the book.
