Historia
I’m just a girl. And it turns out, I’m Hercules. I’m struggling to survive in a Titan infested world where Spartans, immortals from twelve royal families who have god-like powers and obscene wealth, rule over all. A shy-stammering foster child with nothing, I keep my head down, cover my scars, and focus on excelling in school. At least, I try to. Then it happens.

The voice actress wrecked this book.
Revisado: 11-26-24
I tried rolling with it. I thought she was attempting a childs voice in the first chapter due to the MFC being adolescent. Nope, she sounds like that the whole time. Her sarcasm doesn't land, which is depressing because she almost all mental sarcasm which I loved in the book. Also why have so many male performers if they aren't going to step in so I could have had a respite from her weird male pillow voice. All of her male voices sound the same. I am returning this and the pre-order for the next book. I'd rather the AI assistant reader off Kindle. An audible book is useless if you're trying to block out her voice the whole time so you miss the book.

Long awaited and so happy it's here!
Revisado: 08-20-24
Loved the characters, loved the drama, loved the further insight into Preacher and Sabilia.
The merry widows were a delight. I would say more enjoyable than the Red Hat Ladies.
I ended this book with a light and happy heart and also a smile. So happy for M and A.

Her Aunt Allegra said, "A young lady with a fortune is subject to all sorts of untoward attentions by the worst sort of vagrants." It is a lesson Tabitha Timmons, a penniless spinster, has never needed to heed. That is, until she is left a vast fortune payable only upon her marriage to the very respectable Mr. Barkworth - a match that offers little chance of discovering exactly what her aunt means by "untoward attentions." But the same can't be said when the Duke of Preston happens along Tabitha's path....

Nope!
Revisado: 10-11-21
A struggle to finish!! I only kept on to see it through and by the ending music I wasn't even paying attention enough to really know how it ended. I am saving myself the trouble of going back and re-listening.
The start a Cinderella story. Then constant, CONSTANT internal repetitive thoughts from the heroine. Seriously no need for new material or to move the story along. I swear I had no idea I was in chapter 10. Over half way through. Slow agony. awful. I could just imagine being a character in the book and thinking something is wrong with Tabitha. The times you ask her a question and she stands there for 5 minutes not saying anything. In her head reliving something again for the 50th time! Harp on much author.
Yes, I own a few books with narration done by Susen Durden is she my favorite, no. But she's decent enough, but something about her whispered parts in this book made me cringe!
I just couldn't. Stay away. I'm returning this book. waste of time.

The Father Sucks so Hard.
Revisado: 12-29-20
TRULY loved the story nothing but ramblings about the only and biggest grievance I had with the story to follow.... Probably spoilers.
Mr. Hunt sucked! (He might make an amazing husband but he's an awful Father.)
Lydia is even able to show some anger, and rightly so, for her sister, yet not one word or even slightly sad or angry action tword her father. Even Brody got a punch in the face! like God damn the Dad doesn't even apologize for being so careless with her. Then he gets all over protective like he has any right when he has been the worst of all. He even he acknowledges he's a cad to himself. That's the only part of the story that Rankled for me. Seriously There needed to be some kinda "I failed you" or "what can I give you" (since he's all about the material things with indulging Portia) all Lydia got was a hug when he caught up to her finally and it apparently was a group hug with her viper of a sister. idk some kind of moment other then Jane acknowledge her now and JANE making her feel cared for now. WE ALL KNOW JANE IS SWEET AND KIND AND AN AMAZING PARENT TOO BAD HER NEW SPOUSE ISN'T!

Revisado: 12-01-20
I thought this was a book they were making into a Netflix show like they will be doing with The Bridgertons airing Dec 25th. I feel there were some open ended storylines and there was something missing that I couldn't put my finger on. Overall enjoyable.

My Favorite Boyle Book so far
Revisado: 11-25-20
I have listened to a few of her books previously enough where I purchased a few (including this one) I really skimmed through them. But this one! I will definitely listen to over and over. It makes you feel. And Quincy I can't wait to learn more about her story etc. I wish the other audio books were out already! There must be more! Such a unique twist, happy turns, and a sheading of constraints. Not for sticklers of regency etc. (Which I don't understand why you would then get a book where in the description it says she wakes up a different person to begin with, then leave a bad review. [we've all seen them] I digress). Loved it!

Heartwarming
Revisado: 11-01-20
An easy listen. No huge drama, I mean you witness a death, attempted mugging, and a physical altercation, yet they are approached in the book as if nothing really happened. My favorite part was the family dinner. Before and after the Duke arrived.
