Historia
Celebrating her forty-fifth birthday at her local pub, popular podcaster Alix Summer crosses paths with an unassuming woman called Josie Fair. Josie, it turns out, is also celebrating her forty-fifth birthday. They are, in fact, birthday twins. A few days later, Alix and Josie bump into each other again, this time outside Alix’s children’s school. Josie has been listening to Alix’s podcasts and thinks she might be an interesting subject for her series. She is, she tells Alix, on the cusp of great changes in her life.

This was up to his usual quality and this is not my first reading
New writers could learn from a good plot and writing rather than language and shock

Spent a chapter on the bloodhound!
Revisado: 06-29-17
I like prose. I like dogs. I don't like word after word for word's sake. If I hadn't been almost through the book and looking for an ending, the bloodhound would have done me in.
The worst part of the book for me was that with the exception of Wade (pre Ann) I didn't like any of the characters. They all couldn't get their feet out of the mud and even like themselves. Second worst part was that after all that waiting (the actual story line could have ended up interesting) was that there never was an ending.
I read all kinds of books and I don't care if they end up sad, but I like the characters to not mope around for 30 years and then drift off to spend the rest of their lives the same way.

Couldn't turn it off
Revisado: 05-02-14
I rarely give a book a 5 star rating and then it's usually something that has some kind of a profound message or story (Kite Runner-Memoirs of a Geshia) but although this wasn't that kind of book, it was a fantastic read. I finally turned it off at 3 am (had to work the next day) and started it again as I made breakfast.
If you are looking for a far better than normal read, performed perfectly by Scott Brick, this is it.

Always entertaining
Revisado: 03-04-13
I always am entertained by Lee Child. The premise of this was interesting and it was worth my credit, but I didn't feel it was as good as some of his other works.
The story idea was good, but just didn't catch me as not being able to put the book down.
I also felt that the the relationship between Jack Reacher and the "powers that be" was rather unbelieveable.
As I said, a good read but most likely a book I won't remember in the future. (One of the prime things that I think makes a good book)

Beautiful, poetic writing, fascinating story
Revisado: 02-09-13
These are people with all the flaws and goodness that we see all the time but perhaps we dont feel compasson or take the time to understand. The crime is horrific. The motivation ....well read and decide.
I read audiobooks everyday as I work outside and some of my work allows this. Stephen Hogan is the best reader I have heard. The beauty of Tana French's writing style makes just listening a pleasure for the words alone.
This is the first book I have read from this author but absolutely not the last.
I have given only a few books a 4 star rating but there was no question about this one.

A good read
Revisado: 02-01-13
This is not a book that I am going to ponder over and think about for weeks, but is was, as always with Baldacci, a good read.
His characters are interesting, his stories are not boring and there is always excitement. Definitely worth a credit.

Deveraux is always a good romance read
Revisado: 01-07-13
Jude Deveraux is always a good romance read. That said, this is an ok book but nowhere near the quality of something like Knight in Shining Armor.
If you're looking for a nice book to relax with, this is just fine. I don't regret the credit, but I'm sure that I won't remember the plot for very long.
There was a fun story line but certainly not one of her best books.

Another good Baldacci read
Revisado: 12-19-12
The premise of this book is a serious problem that has gotten nearly no widespread media coverage. Having it put in a novel of this quality will at least get those who follow Baldacci informed and perhaps that can make all of us more aware.
It was frightening to hear the thought that there was no problem getting more of this "product" as there would always be a glut of the poor.
Aside from that, this was a well written book with a plot that kept me wanting to continue reading.
