Historia
Alice Scott is an eternal optimist still dreaming of her big writing break. Hayden Anderson is a Pulitzer-prize winning human thundercloud. And they’re both on balmy Little Crescent Island for the same reason: To write the biography of a woman no one has seen in years—or at least to meet with the octogenarian who claims to be the Margaret Ives. Tragic heiress, former tabloid princess, and daughter of one of the most storied (and scandalous) families of the 20th Century.

Hot Tears, Incredible Story

I couldn’t put this down. What a beautiful story. Complex, full of raw emotion, and hope for restoration in relationships. Loved it!!

Historia
At the end of the Second World War, Cyril Conroy combines luck and a single canny investment to begin an enormous real estate empire, propelling his family from poverty to enormous wealth. His first order of business is to buy the Dutch House, a lavish estate in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia. Meant as a surprise for his wife, the house sets in motion the undoing of everyone he loves. The story is told by Cyril’s son Danny, as he and his older sister, the brilliantly acerbic and self-assured Maeve, are exiled from the house where they grew up by their stepmother.

Such a good story!
Revisado: 09-20-20
The beginning was a slow build for me and I wasn’t sure when the hook was coming, but it came. Afterwards, I couldn’t stop listening. Such a magnificent story. Tom Hanks was an excellent narrator, no surprise there. He’s one of my favorite actors and it was a joy to hear him build the characters. Enjoy!!

Historia
In this groundbreaking history of the modern American metropolis, Richard Rothstein explodes the myth that America's cities came to be racially divided through de facto segregation - that is, through individual prejudices, income differences, or the actions of private institutions like banks and real estate agencies. Rather, he incontrovertibly makes clear that it was de jure segregation - the laws and policy decisions passed by local, state, and federal governments - that actually promoted the discriminatory patterns that continue to this day.

A Must Read for All Generations
Revisado: 03-26-19
I will be sharing this book with all of my colleagues, friends and family. This book contains historical information that should be taught to all generations, especially our current and emerging leaders. Widespread and large scale solutions are overdue, and this will help enlighten us all to how we got here and seeds of ideas for how to move forward. And to be sensitive to others and how they’ve been impacted.
