There’s a little bit intrigue in this book. Not much but a little bit of steam. It’s a nice romance between two mature thinking adults. Some parts may be triggering to folks.

BAD

I like it when the BAD guys are truly evil! And then when the Hero gets all grisly and protective, I clutch my pearls and fan my face.

It’s a fun read. It’s predictable & familiar. Mr. Campbell does a stellar job, as usual.

Go put in your pearls & enjoy.

Antony, I have listened to your narrations on several books. You are an actor however, your female voice makes me Cuckoo for CocoPuffs!

The story plot was good but the stitching it together was somewhere between aggravating and boring.

A novel with a story! Go figure!

THIS is a historical romance with a STORY! There is the obligatory sex and angst so, rest easy. HOWEVER there is also character development, a mystery, a truly evil antagonist, a plot with a bit of a twist and regardless of the naysayers - an excellent narrator. I enjoyed it and I recommend it.

Made me laugh...several times. I really liked the H/h -they were funny and chill, even with their personal fears & life disappointments. This book is sexy but not in a trashy way. The narration was well done;
no over-the-top cartoon voices. I bought this read with real money (out of credits) & have already purchased & downloaded the next...still waiting on my credit.

I am obsessed and emotionally spent. Such a great story. Such a great romance. I’m going to have to take a break & read something trifling before I can do another Outlander read.

And Davina Porter? Seriously superb. I am always Uber critical of a female narrator’s male voice ( and vice versa) & she excels in her masculine voice. There were long stretches of time that I forgot the narrator is female.

I’m off to something trifling so I might recapture my emotional balance.

Obsessed & Broken

Our hero is obsessed and can’t tolerate being touched (reminds me of 50 Shades). There is something quite appealing about a man obsessed , strong, ruthless - yet broken. Our heroine is strong willed - no whining here.

The narrator is excellent. Personally, I have no complaints about his female voice.

The sex scenes (only 3... boo) are rough & tumble and have a hint of 50 Shades as well. I liked them.

Ms. Byrnes: Great story, well written - an escape. Thank you. However, I truly hate your cover art. Truly. For this hero I had to use the cover art on THE WOLF for a visual...
