Historia
Get a grip. The first time he cut open a patient's skull, neurosurgeon Mark McLaughlin found himself confronting a powerful force that his fellow brain surgeons agreed was best never spoken of. Fear. But Dr. McLaughlin knew that if he couldn't find a way to cope with this formidable foe, all he had striven for as a physician would be lost. So, with a scientist's analytical precision and a philosopher's worldview, McLaughlin derived and formalized a method by which he could act rationally and confidently under the operating room's lights and in all of the relationships in his life.

Really frustrating listen
Revisado: 11-29-21
This is the most frustrating book I've ever listened to. There is some fantastic content about how the mind works and how we perceive unexpected change in our lives but it's buried in between an extreme amount of superfluous detail about brain surgery procedures. The author goes into excruciating step by step detail about surgeries he has performed throughout the book. I would assume that a very small percentage of audible customers are brain surgeons but maybe I'm wrong. If you are a brain surgeon, you'll probably love it. For those who are not, you might find yourself hitting the fast forward button way too often on this one.

Historia
All through the town of Pine Deep, people are having their most precious memories stolen. The monster seems to target the lonely, the disenfranchised, the people who need memories to anchor them to this world. Something is out there. Something cruel and evil is feeding on the memories, erasing them from the hearts and minds of people like Patty and Monk and others.

Really good
Revisado: 01-07-21
This was a great story and it hooked me in right away. It held my attention all the way through and I always looked forward to my next listening session. The characters were well fleshed out and I wanted to learn more about each one. I was really sorry when this ended, I just wanted it to keep going. Ray Porter's narration is always great and was especially good on this. Highly recommend this one.

Historia
The cozy little town of Pine Deep buried the horrors of its past a long time ago. Thirty years have gone by since the darkness descended and the Black Harvest began, a time when a serial killer sheared a bloody swath through the quiet Pennsylvania village. The evil that once coursed through Pine Deep has been replaced by cheerful tourists getting ready to enjoy the country’s largest Halloween celebration in what is now called “The Spookiest Town in America.”

Really awful narration
Revisado: 01-07-21
I have listened to other Maberry titles and they are great. I was excited to see this one included with my audible membership and wanted to continue the stories of characters from Pine Deep after recently finishing Ink (read by the always excellent Ray Porter) but the narration on this one is so bad that I just gave up after a couple of chapters. It was so stiff and wooden and utterly flat that no emotion was able to come through. It's an example of how a terrible narration can ruin what is probably a great story. Such a disappointment and not worth the download. Not even for free.

Revisado: 12-30-18
Ray Porter is the best narrator on audible. I've listened to several books that he's done and he always elevates the experience. I thought this story was really really interesting. The characters are well drawn, the plot is interesting, and it kept me engaged throughout.

fantastic
Revisado: 09-08-18
I was amazed by this story. It was so well written that I felt like I was right there next to the main character the whole time. For me it was ultimately about relationships and love and the profound impact people can have upon one another. A bonus take away was a thorough understanding of India, its culture, and the complexity of its people which I found fascinating. The narration was simply the best I've ever heard. His delivery is perfect and he managed to slip into each character so naturally that at times I forgot that it was only a single person. Such a great experience.

Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

Revisado: 09-08-18
This book makes me wonder how many fake reviews exist on audible. I bought this one because it has so many glowing reviews but after listening (suffering) to about the halfway point, I had to just stop. The story is boring and derivative and the narration is quite flat.

This story was decent but it didn't move me in an way. You know how a great story will make you think and reflect and it will stay with you after you finish? None of that happened for me with this one. The narrator was excellent.

Fanatical Prospecting gives salespeople, sales leaders, entrepreneurs, and executives a practical, eye-opening guide that clearly explains the why and how behind the most important activity in sales and business development: prospecting. The brutal fact is that the number one reason for failure in sales is an empty pipe, and the root cause of an empty pipeline is the failure to consistently prospect.

What made the experience of listening to Fanatical Prospecting the most enjoyable?
Lots of usable strategies and some very relevant insights on sales in general and on prospecting.
Any additional comments?
I've read a lot of Sales books over the years and I'd have to put this one at the very top. It's current, it gives strategies that you can use right away, and it is does not contain any fluff. There is a lot of really good information in here and it is delivered very well. If you are in Sales, I would highly recommend it.
