Fantastic story, needs a new narrator as all his voices sound way too similar. R.C. Bray would slay this.

Historia
The starship Freedom was once a mighty warship. Today, she's a tourist attraction. The space wars ended long ago. The Freedom is now a flying museum; the tourists love it. The Changing of the Guard, the starfighter aerobatics, the starboard cannon salute...it's the best show in the galaxy. James King commands the starship Freedom. He hates his job. He was a real soldier once, back when the Freedom was a real warship. He never imagined himself running a tourist trap. Right after Christmas, he plans to retire. Then, on Christmas day, the aliens attack.

Blatant Rip-Off.
Revisado: 12-28-21
I'm suprised NBC/Universal hasn't sued this guy for copyright infringement. A REALLY poorly done Battlestar Galactica fan-fic with none of the nostalgic campiness of the original nor the character-driven drama of the re-boot. Save your credit.

Missing a section.
Revisado: 10-04-17
It seems the audiobook is missing a section between chapters 10 and 11. One second they are rolling up on the bad guys and the next they are holed up in some farm house. Everything else is fantastic; story (except for the missing part), narration, etc.

Great Book, Narrator Needs Some Help.
Revisado: 01-24-16
What made the experience of listening to A Path of Ashes the most enjoyable?
Fantastic story, I cannot wait for the next book.
What other book might you compare A Path of Ashes to and why?
If you like this book, check out Convoy 19 by Mark Rivett.
What about Stephen Bel Davies’s performance did you like?
He did a good job overall he just mispronounced some town names. For Instance, Mexia is pronounced "Muh-Hay-Yuh" not "Mex-e-uh" and Seguin is pronounced "Seh-Geen" not "Suh-gwin". But overall he did fine. And yes, I am a native Texan who served in the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood where much of the story takes place, at least he pronounced Killeen correctly.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, it was awesome.

Great Story, Bad Narrator.
Revisado: 11-19-15
Fantastic story, even better than the first. My only complaint is with the narrator who sounded like he was a 90 year old man who was half asleep while he read it. I can only hope the next book has a better narrator who is more adept at character voices and who doesn't sound bored to death while reading it.

I'm drunk as hell so I hope this will make sense. This was an amazing story. Good narrator who seamlessly moved between characters. Mr Blackmore has truly struck gold with this series of books. I have to go, my buddy is out of town and his old lady is feeling frisky. Duty calls.
