Historia
When Cassie Klein goes to an off-campus bar to escape her school’s Family Weekend, she isn’t looking for a hookup—it just happens. Buying a drink for a stranger turns into what should be an uncomplicated, amazing one-night stand. But then the next morning rolls around and her friend drags her along to meet her mom—the hot, older woman Cassie slept with. What should have been a one-time fling quickly proves impossible to ignore, and soon Cassie and Erin are sneaking around. Worst of all, they start to realize they have something real. But is being honest about it worth the cost?

Slow burn love story that will tug at your heartstrings. I wish it didn't take most of the book for them to get together.

Historia
Free-spirited and easygoing Taylor Vandenberg left her hometown of Faircombe, Tennessee, as soon as she could, and in the twenty-five years since, she has rarely looked back. She wouldn't change anything about how her life has turned out—having traveled to nearly every country, never staying anywhere long enough to feel stifled. Brooke Watson has known Taylor for her entire life, and lifelong knowledge means that Brooke knows she's trouble: irresponsible, takes nothing seriously, and irritatingly attractive.

Beautifully Written
Revisado: 01-14-24
I love Haley Cass' books, especially Those Who Wait. The character development of In the Long Run is unparalleled, heartfelt, and moving. My one dislike would have to be the length. This is an excruciating slow burn that can get a little repetitive, and the ending, because so drawn out, can be a little anticlimactic. Still, I enjoyed it very much, and these characters will remain with me for a long time to come.

Historia
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's there are few. So begins this most beloved of all American Zen works. Seldom has such a small handful of words provided a teaching as rich as this famous opening line of Shunryu Suzuki's classic. In a single stroke, the simple sentence cuts through the pervasive tendency students have of getting so close to Zen as to completely miss what it's all about. An instant teaching in the first minutes. And that's just the beginning.

The sound quality sucks but the message is beautiful
Revisado: 12-20-22
If you can get over the awful sound quality, this is a truly wonderful book with many truths. I will be buying the text to reread it, as you find yourself wanting to write down so many salient points.

Historia
Stockbroker Isabelle Rhodes has a lot of money, a lot of trust issues, and a whole lot of reasons to believe her ex-girlfriend was right when she said that Isabelle sucked at relationships. With that accusation stuck in her head, Isabelle throws caution to the wind and dives into her first one-night stand. Checking that off her bucket list should be something to celebrate - except it turns out that the woman she just spent an earth-shattering night with is actually her newly hired company pilot, Audrey Graham. Ms. Never-See-You-Again just turned into Ms. See-You-Constantly.

A conflation of reasonable and unreasonable arguments
Revisado: 01-16-22
This book is well written, badly performed (too many pauses, not enough inflection), and completely misses the mark as it discusses mainstream Christianity’s homophobia. Perhaps what is most disgusting about McLaughlin’s message is the admission that she is queer herself and willingly stays in a heterosexual marriage, alluding to the belief that God wants her to suppress her sexuality. No, we can’t boil Christianity down to sexual acts, but we can acknowledge that we are all living icons of Christ, made in His image, and the last thing He would want would be for us to hate ourselves or live a lie. This position is folly, and doesn’t fit with other chapters that provide truly thoughtful arguments. Overlooking this particular chapter, the author makes salient points and this book is worth reading, but one must take what is said with a grain of salt.
