Historia
Over 1600 years ago, God raised up a man named Patrick to take the Gospel of Christ to the people of Ireland. Seldom in church history has any missionary been blessed with a more fruitful ministry. The preaching of Patrick was used by God to transform many of the Irish people from idol-worshiping pagans into servants of the one true God of Scripture.

Recommended for Homeschoolers

This was a good blend of fact/fiction, and done in an interesting way. I'm no longer a child, but they seem to be the intended audience, due to questions at the end of each chapter. This would be a timely March read for homeschoolers, or any child: the true meaning, to add to the usual malarkey that goes with St. Patrick's Day.

Contains Historical Fallacy
Revisado: 07-12-22
For a book as short as this one, you'd think the author could have researched all of the facts. But no. The Pilgrims did not want to "start a new religion". They wanted to practice their own religion without being persecuted, which is the entire reason they left Europe.

Historia
When Stella and her younger brother, Tom, move to their new London home, they become mystified by the disappearances of Harry, their elderly neighbor's small dog. Where does he go? And why does he keep reappearing wet-through? Their quest to solve the riddle over the summer holidays leads to a boat buried under a grassy mound, and a tunnel that takes them to a secret lake.

Pleasant but not memorable
Revisado: 07-01-21
I purchased this book while it was half price. Under this circumstance, it was worth it. If I had bought it at full price, I feel it wouldn't have been worth it, especially as short as it was. There are better children's time travel books out there. (Half Magic by Edward Eager)

The Boy lives in a cottage with his mother and father, and the Dragon lives in a cave on the Downs. The Boy is his only friend. The Dragon is not at all the sort of Dragon one might expect to meet, however: he's polite and friendly.

Utter Perfection!
Revisado: 04-30-21
This is one of the few times when a 5-star rating isn't good enough. Anton Lesser was the perfect choice for narrator, and exceeded my expectations. My very favorite part was when the dragon was ramping. Highly recommended to all.
