The story was great! Poor choice of narrator!

The female narrator constantly sounded like she was going to burst out in tears at any moment, and I was wanting to tell her, It'll be okay, don't cry. And she didn't sound as young as this girl was. Very, very poor choice of narrator. Other than that, the story is good. It takes a little while for the story to tie itself in with the other Mindspeak books, so just hang in there and it'll all make sense after a while!

The narrator almost killed it for me

I almost quit listening to this book a dozen times because I could not stand the way the narrator read this! I'm definitely going to remember who she is and will refuse to buy audiobooks from now on narrated by her. The story was good, though. I wish I could've enjoyed it without cringing every few words at the narrator's pronunciation of words or her wonky inflection on the wrong words.

This one will suck you in from the beginning!

Loved this book series! Great writing by the author! The narration was not perfect. Her inflection was on all the wrong words, as if she hadn't read the material and practiced before she recorded it, but it gets a little better with each book. By the third book, you hardly notice it. I can't wait to listen to the other books by this author!

Despite the narrator, the storyline is impressive

I listen to a lot of audiobooks, and I have never had a narrator bother me as much as this one did. The male characters' voices made it tough to connect with the men because they sound like 100-year-old smokers instead of young, likeable men. The inflection of the sentences was all wrong. I was paying more attention to the missing G sound on the end of the words than the story at times. I may have to go back and read this book to be able to properly connect with the characters. But the story was good! I'm just going to make it a point to avoid all books narrated by this lady again. It's not worth it. I buy the books for the experience and how it makes me feel, not to be stressed out more because she's reading it so horribly.

I love this series!!! It'll make you laugh constantly and want so badly to keep listening to find out what happens next!!! This is hands down my FAVORITE book series of all and I'll constantly come back to listen over and over!!

Loved the story, not the ending

Wow. The story was great! I couldn't stop listening! The narrator did an excellent job. But the ending.....it feels so wrong not knowing what'll happen with Trey or Kyon or Astrid. And I'd love to know what happens next as they try to start fresh on Earth. So many unanswered questions... I can't believe she ended the series that way.

Great story, horrible narration

The narrator's voice is very hard to listen to. Every sentence ends with a whiny quality and her voice is way too old for the characters in the story. I wanted to finish listening to find out what happens in the story, but the narrator's voice made me want to shut it off instantly. I'm going to avoid books in the future narrated by her.

I have literally listened to this book series with every free minute I had. I couldn't stop. I needed badly to find out what happened next! But the mouth sounds between each sentence nearly drove me crazy. My kids would watch me flinch and cringe every time she finished a sentence and there was the noise. I couldn't figure out if she was swallowing or had an extremely dry mouth. It was extremely distracting and something I've never experienced in any other audiobook I've purchased. It made me want to delete the audiobooks and buy the e-books to read so I'd never have to hear it again. Other than that, I am now a true fan of this author.
