Picked this because my daughter is taking Anatomy

This was a very interesting book. The author kept my interest with her stories and reading. I was even able to pass on knowledge I learned to my daughter who I currently taking an Anatomy class. I have also recommended this book to others.

New respect for Ms. Davies

This book was very informative and entertaining. I have been to Hearst Castle many times, attended an estate sale at the Beverly House, and drive past the Annenburg Community Beach House every time I go through Malibu. These visuals made this book really come alive for me and I loved every second of it. Finding what's left of old Hollywood is hard, but it is nice to know some of her legacy lives on. Now, I want to watch all of her movies!

Interesting and upsetting

I enjoyed this book very much, even if it did have me cursing Hedda Hopper out loud several times. I have stopped outside the Chaplin studios many times when showing friends around LA. I will look at it differently now, knowing how it was taken away from him.

All I ever knew of Washington and the slaves he owned was that upon his death, they were all given their freedom. Now with this story, you learn that the majority of the slaves were owned by Martha Washington and what they did during their time in Philadelphia to keep all of their slaves. I've been telling everyone about this story. Everyone should know this story!
