Historia
In the final volume of The Berrybender Narratives, Tasmin and her family are under arrest in Mexican Santa Fe. Tasmin, who would once have followed her husband anywhere, is no longer even sure she likes him, or where to go next. Captain Clark, of Lewis and Clark fame, is puzzled by the great changes sweeping over the West, replacing red men and buffalo with towns and farms.

Folly and Glory
Revisado: 02-22-07
If this whole series is not a mini-series soon, or maybe I missed it, then it should be. It would have to be edited, naturally, but what a story. It is in the order of the "Lonesome Dove" but with many more interesting characters. I have enjoyed all of McMurtry's work and hope to see the English family on screen some time before long. Its on a level with L'Amour's "How the West Was Won".

Dancehall of the Dead

Hillerman is an easy read and has a pleasant way he approaches his characters. This is the first book I have listened to but have read 6 or 7 and they are just as good anyway you take them. I would like to see more audibles done as I don't mind listening over and over. I highly recommend him to anyone who enjoys a good wholesome story with intrigue and down to earth approaches.

Historia
He was etched by the desert's howling winds, a big, broad-shouldered man who knew the ways of the Apache and the ways of staying alive. She was a woman alone raising a young son on her own on a remote Arizona ranch. And between Hondo Lane and Angie Lowe was the warrior Vittoro, whose people were preparing to rise against the white men. Now the pioneer woman, the gunman, and the Apache warrior are caught in a drama of love, war, and honor.

I've read all of LL and now listening is just as good. Hondo is well worth the time to listen.

Historia
Against the immense backdrop of the American West, Larry McMurtry tracks the Berrybender's as they make their way up the great river, surviving attacks, discomfort, savage weather, and natural disaster. Sin Killer is an adventure story as big as the West itself, full of incident, and suspense, as well as a charming love story between a headstrong and aristocratic young Englishwoman and the stubborn, shy, and very American Jim Snow.

Sin Killer

Larry McMurtry does an excellent job of detailing this saga. However, it would not be half as interesting if it were not for the gentleman reading the book. He is absolutely sensational in the way he is able to change dialects and do it instantaneously and keep them all the same throughout the book. It brings the whole adventure alive and personal. Five stars all the way.
