A hymn of love
Revisado: 10-07-24
I was extremely impressed by the humanly approach of the author/ hero of the book to everyone he meets, also to Italia and the italians. It is a love story not only with a woman but with humanity. The story is very moving and very well read. I recommend it warmly

Historia
The life-and-death hunt for a notorious Nazi criminal unfolds against a background of international arms deals. As the story leads to its final dramatic confrontation on a bleak winter's hill-top, the question every reader asked at the end of The Day of the Jackal will inevitably be asked again: Can this be fiction?

A master of suspence

Forsyte knows how to tell a story based on historical events and is a master of suspence. I highly recommend. David Rintool is excellent as usual.

covers an interesting period but the weakest part of the trilogy
Revisado: 07-08-24
this novel covers a very interesting period of the religion struggles of the 16 century in Europe. ken Folletts’ history love and knowledge makes it vivid for the reader. but some of the scenes are artificial and unconvincing. the narrator,John Lee, is excellent. a real pleasure to listen to his voice and admire the way he plays the various characters. mostly recommended!,,

Historia
Paris in 1895: Alfred Dreyfus, a young Jewish officer, has just been convicted of treason, sentenced to life imprisonment at Devil's Island, and stripped of his rank in front of a baying crowd of 20,000. Among the witnesses to his humiliation is Georges Picquart, the ambitious, intellectual, recently promoted head of the counterespionage agency that Dreyfus had passed secrets to the Germans. At first, Picquart firmly believes in Dreyfus' guilt. But it is not long after Dreyfus is delivered to his desolate prison that Picquart stumbles on information that leads him to suspect that there is still a spy at large in the French military.

Historia

The time is 1933, the place, Berlin, when William E. Dodd becomes America’s first ambassador to Hitler’s Germany in a year that proved to be a turning point in history. A mild-mannered professor from Chicago, Dodd brings along his wife, son, and flamboyant daughter, Martha. At first Martha is entranced by the parties and pomp, and the handsome young men of the Third Reich with their infectious enthusiasm for restoring Germany to a position of world prominence. Enamored of the “New Germany,” she has one affair after another....
