Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Historia
When Elon Musk was a kid in South Africa, he was regularly beaten by bullies. One day a group pushed him down some concrete steps and kicked him until his face was a swollen ball of flesh. He was in the hospital for a week. But the physical scars were minor compared to the emotional ones inflicted by his father, an engineer, rogue, and charismatic fantasist.

Isaacson, u did good. Real good!!!!
Revisado: 09-30-23
I truly enjoyed Isaacson work, in bring us into Musks world n to some extent his mind. I think he is honest, fair and insightful of Musk the person n his accomplishments. After listening to the book, my view of Musk has change somewhat. I have better insight into some of his actions n comments. Not that I agree with them all but I understand Musk’s approach l n don’t view him as critical. Actually, my view of Musk now is that he is a very hard work, has tremendous inter strength, completely dedicated in his endeavors, even to the point of making sacrifices in his life n those of his family’s to get the result that he has attained. Musk is caring but insensitive, honest but hypocritical, humble but haughty. Isaacson has highlighted how important Musk family n a few of his friends have been in keeping Musk sane during difficult periods in his personal n business life. Musk n us should be very grateful that he has them in his life. His love for his children is very evident n assuring for us that that whatever he does, he truly wants a better world n society for his children to live in. This is especially true when u realize the scary possibility that Ai, robots, n military inventions can have on our world society. For some reason it’s comforting to know he’s involved. Learning about his upbringing n father does give u insight to the man. What I don’t understand is how Musk at times allows these feelings n memories to impact him like it does. He seems to have very loving n supportive individuals in his life. I hope his relationship with his mother n brother continues as they seem well balanced n a good influence on him. Seems like Musk trust them. No one wants another Howard Hughes. We own a model S n X n its been so interesting on how n what it took to make Tesla what it is today. Regarding Twitter or X, the issue of free speech is very important n I hope they figure how to approach it. It’s complicated. Musk has attained the honor of being an individual who has had a tremendous impact on our lives n our environment. The fact that his future accomplishments might be more impactful then what he’s already accomplished is amazing. I think its cool that we have been around to witness it. Thx to Musk n Isaacson for this book. To think that I was not planning to buy this book because I didn’t appreciate some the thing Musk has said n done in the last few years n thought Isaacson was not going to give an honest account. It wasn’t until I heard him interview about the book that I realized that wasn’t the case. I enjoyed this so much that Im trying to decide which of Isaacson book I’ll read next.

At times not fair in conclusion
Revisado: 08-06-23
I agreed with much of the info that the author points out regarding the bible n many Christian religions. Where i have an issue, is the way he paints many Christian with a broad brush as to their morality and generosity. I also feel he takes a major leap in his portrayal of Jesus. He bases much of the criticism on the fact that if he is part of a Trinity which I don’t think he believes the trinity to be accurate. For example the issue regarding helping the homeless. Many don’t give to individuals standing at the street corner n when they approach u in the parking lot, because many think they will use the money for drugs or that they are part of groups that are not homeless but are scamming. But many of these contribute to organizations, to their churches that tells them money is being used to help poor. They help friends or neighbors or causes that they feel will be of help to others. They also pay taxes of which are being used by government to pay for many of the programs to help homeless. Many churches have programs to help n give food to homeless. The money comes from contributions form individual in the church. Regarding stopping to help someone who’s car has broken down in the middle of nowhere, many are concern that it might be a setup to rob u or worst. At times as read certain sections, I became a little uneasy of his criticism of the Jews n Christian. I felt there was some personal anger issues from the author that were maybe bleeding through into his book. I realize that he is trying to sell books, he needs to make a living. If the book doesn’t do well it makes it that much harder for him to convince the publisher for his next book. So he needs to get attention, he needs to tap into certain groups who have similar feelings towards religion or religious groups. Again many of the issues he brings out regarding the bible, religion, Apostle Pauls, God, the lack of bible knowledge, and hypocrisy that exist in religion is very true. What he does with the info at times is very unfair n not accurate.

Came from Cuba in the 60s as young kid n been back to Cuba a few times to visit. This book touches on the emotions, the hopes n the lost that many of us feel for what our parents n those of us that didn’t experience life in Havana but heard our whole life’s as we listen to the stories. I enjoyed this book n the flash backs that it brought up n my mind. Thx.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Not a S. K. fan, but this was great.
Revisado: 11-23-22
I heard Cramer recommended it to David on cnbc. Glad I did. It’s one of my favorite books. It was fun to think of the possibilities to change history. I thought Stephen King only wrote supernatural book which doesn’t really interest me. This was excellent. I just finished Fairy Tale also mentioned by Cramer n it’s very good. I’m glad to have read them, I truly enjoyed the ride n distraction from both books. Looking forward to the next book.
