I love the new title for this book! I read it years ago and the title change better reflects the hopeful message you will find when you listen. The book imagines an afterlife where you are never out of reach of God's love, no matter how dark your mind or surroundings are. I love the many chances to change and accept God's love that are offfered to the main character - there was never a "last chance". The imagery of the broken vase as a symbol of how generations are connected is one I think about often. One of my favorite lines is when the teacher explains "God gives. And you recieve or choose not to receive, the choice is always yours." The author does an amazing job of describing situations, feelings, and places that are abstract so you feel like you are experiencing a glimpse of what could be.
