Captivating Story
Revisado: 11-26-23
I really enjoyed the story. I did struggle with the narrators accents, though. They are poorly done. If they'd just voiced the characters lines in a British accent, I think it would be okay, but so many words are mispronounced and the accent jumps around a lot. Words are slurred, and I honestly don't know half of the names in the book because I can't understand when the narrators say them.

Similar to Throne of Glass
Revisado: 11-24-23
I usually really love CN Crawford's books, and while I didn't necessarily dislike this one, it just felt... disconnected. A little repetitive. There were some instances that felt a little too similar to Throne of Glass, and there was one conversation with one of the female characters and the male lead that was almost a direct rewrite of a conversation between Miss Bingley and Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. It ALMOST comes off as lazy because of all the elements that feel too closely connected to other books. I don't know if that's intentional or not, but it was slightly off-putting nonetheless. Other than that, it's a pretty basic plot. A little insta-love. Pretty predictable, but I always love predictability because I know exactly what I'm getting. If you're a fan of CN Crawford, it's definitely worth a read, but it definitely is not my favorite of her books.

Historia
Once, I was a broke college student. Now, it seems I'm destined to rule as the Lightbringer - queen of the demon realm. Except I have competition in the form of Orion, the lord of chaos. Like me, he has been marked as a leader. We can't keep our hands off each other, even if he swore an oath to kill me. It seems we both want the same thing - the crown. And, in this battle of wills, only one of us will be left standing.

Fantastic Sequel

As always, another great book by C.N. Crawford. Great narrator, I would absolutely recommend this series (and any other by Crawford).

Amazing Book
Revisado: 06-13-22
I don't usually write reviews but this book gripped me immediately.
This book has adventure, spice, wonderful romance, effortless LGBTQ+ representation (it doesn't feel too try-hard although it is all side characters, so not the book if you're looking specifically for LGBTQ+). It's action scenes are intense and wonderfully written. The world building is magical. The narrator was also very good. Some of the voices she did were a little strange and took me out of the story at first, but you get used to it.
I don't usually go for series' that change perspective, it's one of my biggest pet peeves. But this story left loose ends that make me want to read from the other character's perspectives. It gave me an emotional connection with the other characters that has me excited to read what happens to them.
Anyways, 10/10 recommend.
