Honestly, I was excitedly waiting for this book to come out because I have enjoyed her other books, but this one was so damn boring! Super disappointing

Historia
It was a bleak November in 2012 when Cari Lea Farver vanished from Omaha, Nebraska. Cari, 37, was a devoted mother, reliable employee, and loyal friend - not the type to shirk responsibilities, abandon her son, and run off on an adventure while her dying father took his last breaths. Yet, the many texts from her phone indicated she had done just that. While Cari's boyfriend, Dave Kroupa, and her supervisor were bewildered by her abrupt disappearance, they accepted the texts at face value. Her mother, Nancy Raney, however, was alarmed and reported Cari missing.

The narrator’s voice is horrible!
Revisado: 02-17-25
I couldn’t even finish because I was bored out of my mind by the narrators voice. It’s absolutely monotone and she just goes on and on. Maybe that’s the author as well I guess.

Historia
Charlie Renfrew is too busy and too broke for a love life. There's no room in a schedule crammed with university, a full-time job, music, and his very committed relationship with overthinking. Hence the dating ban. Which is exactly when Ben Campbell shows up with his piercings, quirky knits, and indie rock fame. But maybe it's time for Charlie to trade caffeine for something hotter, blonder, and completely out of his comfort zone. Gorgeous, funny men don't happen to Charlie. Not like this. Even if it's ill-timed and too bloody complicated. But maybe a quick shag won't hurt . . .

Revisado: 12-05-24
The first book was good. The second book was so boring and slow, and the characters were uninteresting. The hot sex was completely unbelievable coming from Charlie.

This book was beautifully told and inspiring. It was also heart wrenching and confirmed a lot of what I already felt about the Amish community.

SNAKES ARE VENOMOUS NOT POISONOUS ELIN!!
Revisado: 10-20-24
Great book but the author should do their research on snakes if your main character works at the zoo. Snakes are venomous not poisonous! Giant freaking pet peeve!

Historia
For Astrid Parker, failure is unacceptable. Ever since she broke up with her fiancé a year ago, she’s been focused on her career—her friends might say she’s obsessed, but she knows she’s just driven. When Pru Everwood asks her to be the designer for the Everwood Inn’s renovation, which will be featured on a popular HGTV show, Innside America, Astrid is thrilled. Not only will the project distract her from her failed engagement and help her struggling business, but her perpetually displeased mother might finally give her a nod of approval.

I like this author but….
Revisado: 05-14-24
As a soft femme reading this book, I don’t understand why Jordan could not have just been portrayed as a masc lesbian or butch. Why the lipstick?! Totally ruined the image of her for me. The author totally could’ve had fun with a little butch/femme action and missed out completely.

Incredibly sad, but the most boring telling of this sad story!
Revisado: 01-10-24
The first narrator was unbearable. So monotone and boring. The second narrator was better, but the way the story was told was just so incredibly boring. I think it’s the first time that the movie might actually be better than the book.
