I've been waiting for this book to be available. I am an avid follower of The Exorcist Files podcast, where they talked about this book. I enjoyed learning all about Catholicism, as well as the true stories of exorcism and infestation. Hard to believe, but totally true accounts...fascinating and scary.

Historia
Successful New York psychiatrist Richard Gallagher was skeptical yet intrigued when a hard-nosed, no-nonsense Catholic priest asked him to examine a woman for a possible exorcism. Meeting her, Gallagher was astonished. The woman’s behavior defied logic. This remarkable case was the first of many that Gallagher would encounter. Sought after today by leaders of all faiths—ministers, priests, rabbis and imams, Gallagher has spent a quarter-century studying demonic activity and exorcisms throughout history and has witnessed more cases than any other psychiatrist in the world today.

Not to be punny, but I found this book spellbounding. Narration was first-rate. The accounts described within carry more weight with me because the author is a respected, serious-minded, and learned psychiatrist. I am now on a quest to understand Catholicism and religion in general. I will also buy some holy water to be on the safe side. I know, right?! No one who knows me would believe me. But that's what I'm going to do. Period.

What a wonderful voice actor and with such velvety voice, *perfect for this story.* I can see why this "nonfiction novel" catapulted Truman into the rarified circles of NY high society. It is a flawless creation.

Historia
In July of 1991, the country was shocked by the unfathomable crimes of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. But no one was more shocked than his parents. In A Father's Story, the listener becomes witness to the incremental unraveling of a parent's image of their child, and the "thousand different reactions" that follow. In his attempt to understand the nature of his son's psychosis, Lionel Dahmer methodically scrutinizes every possible contributing factor to his son's madness.

Lionel shares some remarkable insights into the mind of his late infamous serial killer of a son. I highly recommend this book if you're interested in the aberrant human mind, and trying to figure out why it does what it does--aka, the nature versus nature argument, that cannot ever be solved.

Historia
Before she was a trauma cleaner, Sandra Pankhurst was many things: husband and father, drag queen, gender reassignment patient, sex worker, small businesswoman, trophy wife... but as a little boy, raised in violence and excluded from the family home, she just wanted to belong. Now she believes her clients deserve no less. A man who bled quietly to death in his living room. Sarah Krasnostein has watched the extraordinary Sandra Pankhurst bring order and care to these, the living and the dead - and the book she has written is equally extraordinary.

I don't like every single book I listen to. In fact, I send some of them back. I exchanged them for others. This one is one of my favorites. It is well written, well read aloud, and the story kept me engaged throughout. Really quite amazing. Hard to believe the story is real. Two thumbs enthusiastically up. Way up.
