Historia
There is a war on masculinity, and everywhere we look—on every front we hold sacred—we can see the painful reminders of this collapsing order. The chaos and crisis we are experiencing today should be a signal for men everywhere to rise up; to fight to preserve our way of life by once again walking the ancient paths. But this isn’t a journey that need be taken alone.

To Know Oneself is Rare.
Revisado: 08-30-23
This was an extremely enjoyable change from my normal reading and listening, and it is such a positive challenge for my character.
John Lovell is genuine and level-headed, and The Warrior Poet Way is his humble conviction. He reads it well, and I found his voice and inflections captivating. He has made himself vulnerable to the public by narrating his ethos, which resonates with honesty and humility. I bought this as an audio book rather than a dead tree simply because John read it himself, and I highly recommend it in audiobook form.
As for the content, I find the ideals he presents mirror my own closely and are a welcome view that gave me different and slightly new perspectives. His explanation of a balanced life between Warrior and Poet resonate and have now put to words what i have felt and lived for so long; he has somehow described my character and what I believe all men should strive for. These are much needed ideals in American and modern society.
I am very new to John's YouTube channel but after listening to this book, (now listening a second time, using it as a guide while I journal) he has one more Warrior Poet to count amongst him. Thank you for the wonderful work, John.

Historia
The United Eastern States has fallen. Lee Harden and a band of survivors have escaped President Briggs' invasion force. Their only options are to attack Briggs while his forces are delayed on the East Coast...or admit that they've been beaten and go into hiding. For Lee Harden, the decision seems obvious. But as disparate forces, factions, and loyalties begin to converge under the pressure cooker of all-out civil war, Lee is forced to confront not only insurmountable odds, but also the darkest parts of himself that he has left buried in the years since this all began.

love this series.

This is the best series I've read from DJ Molles. I was hesitant because I like the Lee Harden books but Grower's War trilogy topped that for me.

Historia
The United Eastern States is crumbling. The fragile house of cards that Lee Harden and Angela Houston have built has begun to fall. Lee is up against a ticking clock, as he is recalled from Texas and given the last thing in the world that he wants: a promotion. Forced into a command role, Major Harden is thrust into a sharp learning curve that goes against every instinct he's developed over years of fighting.

Coming Back Around
Revisado: 09-28-20
DJ Molles knocked it out with bringing the series back around to it's roots of Project Hometown. His character development is some of my favorite in fiction and he has fleshed out so many well-rounded and realistic characters, flaws and all. The Remaining showed his talent for gritting through the fiction with descriptive and entertaining writing, and Harden has taken you with Lee through the depression and anger of a soldier with bloodlust and back to his purpose. I have enjoyed how he has captured the individual greed and flaws of human nature, showing multiple sides to a conflict while still fully supporting the protagonist as a struggling good guy stereotype. Well written and bringing the series together. Bravo on another great work of fiction.

Speaking for the first time, Whitus gives the unvarnished truth of many major SWAT operations. Now retired, he opens up about his time behind the shield. Bullet Riddled is the full unabridged disclosure of what happened during his storied career; including the brutal morning of the Columbine Massacre. More than just a retelling, Bullet Riddled is an in-depth look at the day-to-day of SWAT and focuses on the men and women who inherit so much pain to keep us safe.

Historia
Ten years after the collapse, Huxley has built a good life again. He has a loving wife, a farm with fields of golden barley, and a daughter with a strange and wonderful gift. Then the slavers come. Working out in the fields during the attack, Huxley returns too late. His daughter has been taken, and his wife is bleeding out, her last whispered words about a man with a scorpion tattoo on his neck. Where do the slavers go? Huxley has no idea. He knows only that they head east, and so will he, setting out on foot across the desert of the Wastelands.

Good author, good narrator, okay story
Revisado: 04-20-20
The writing is on par with the Lee Harden novels only different characters as this is a stand alone novel. Skill-wise it was an enjoyable read and he captured emotion really well with his characters and narrative. I did, however, feel like I jumped into a story part way through and although I'm sure it was intentional to shock the reader into the chaotic setting it didn't quite hold my attention like the Lee Harden novels have. Christian Rummel did an outstanding job narrating, as he has with all the projects of his I have listened to so far. Nevertheless, if you enjoy Molles' writing then this is worth a read.

Scratches the Surface
Revisado: 12-22-19
Decently narrated, the dude's voice wasn't bad and he was more engaged than a lot of narrators. The information, despite it being on point, hardly scratches the surface. I know with how short it is not to expect an in depth analysis and review of IF but if you found this book interesting dig further in your research. I would use this simply as an attention getter for anyone considering the fasting lifestyle. If you want to dig a bit deeper I suggest The Complete Guide to Fasting by Jason Fung.
As of this review I have not looked at the online material mentioned (recipes, etc.)

Historia
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Great Myth Compilation
Revisado: 02-16-18
I loved the myths. This was a great collection to listen to during my commutes. My only reason for marking it lower was because I wasn't a fan of the narration. It seemed stiff and a little too bland for me, though the content of the writing is obviously unaffected, it could have been less rigid in its delivery.

Historia
Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson ( Pulp Fiction) rocks this mock bedtime story, capturing a hilarious range of emotions as the voice of a father struggling to get his child to sleep. Go the F**k to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland.
