Historia
Every year the people of the Protectorate leave a baby as an offering to the witch who lives in the forest. They hope this sacrifice will keep her from terrorizing their town. But the witch in the forest, Xan, is kind and gentle. She shares her home with a wise Swamp Monster named Glerk and a Perfectly Tiny Dragon, Fyrian. Xan rescues the abandoned children and delivers them to welcoming families on the other side of the forest, nourishing the babies with starlight on the journey.

Never ending story?
Revisado: 12-31-24
I am going to be honest this was tough to finish,, One thing I didn’t understand is why there were moments characters weee in conversation,/responding to questions without the other character part of the conversation; then back to multi character narration. Very strange. The stores just dragged toward the end. Just didn’t love it.

Historia
Ever since Cass almost drowned (okay, she did drown, but she doesn't like to think about it), she can pull back the Veil that separates the living from the dead...and enter the world of spirits. Her best friend is even a ghost. So things are already pretty strange. But they're about to get much stranger. When Cass's parents start hosting a TV show about the world's most haunted places, the family heads off to Edinburgh, Scotland. Here, graveyards, castles, and secret passageways teem with restless phantoms. And then Cass meets a girl who shares her "gift"....

For teens…
Revisado: 11-12-24
I won’t give anything away about the book, but I do think this is for a much younger demographic. It was well written as always. I love her work! I finished it. It’s just not for me.
Lastly, I will say that the book was really short. I see that there is a book 2 and book 3,…which means spending two more credits.… For something that seemed like it could’ve been all one book.
Still one of my favorite writers… Just not one of my favorite books

Historia
In her small early-19th-century Welsh town, there is no one quite like Morgana. She is small and quick and pretty enough to attract a suitor, but there are things that set her apart from other girls. Though her mind is sharp she has not spoken since she was a young girl. Her silence is a mystery, as well as her magic - the household objects that seem to move at her command, the bad luck that visits those who do her ill. Concerned for her safety, her mother is anxious to see Morgana married....

MORGANA…
Revisado: 03-03-24
Quality: the recording of this audio book is definitely sub par. Sounds muffled and distorted.
Narration:
Not great. The narrators accents and characters voices are just not great.
Story:
The main characters name is said so many times in one paragraph to the point of announce. MORGANA!
The main character is both portrayed as strong and intelligent, while constantly portraying her as weak and dumb. The books also has these weird references to her being a “young bride” and her “childlike body” . Very patriarchal writing.
Lastly, it’s just a plot that goes nowhere! Chapters and chapters about cattle bearding. Very little about magic. Boring!

Historia
The wife has it all. A big house in a nice neighborhood, a ride-or-die snarky best friend, Temi, with whom to laugh about facile men, and a devoted husband who loves her above all else—even his distaste for Temi. On a seemingly normal day, Temi comes over to spend a lazy afternoon with the wife: drinking wine, eating snacks, and laughing caustically about the husband's shortcomings. But when the husband comes home and a series of confessions are made, the wife's two confidants are suddenly forced to jockey for their positions, throwing everyone's integrity into question.

The book just ends in what feels like chapter 3. If this was a free preview then maybe this would have been ok but boo! The “ending” was terrible!

Historia
As one of the few witches in Britain, Mika Moon knows she has to hide her magic, keep her head down, and stay away from other witches so their powers don’t mingle and draw attention. And as an orphan who lost her parents at a young age and was raised by strangers, she’s used to being alone and she follows the rules...with one exception: an online account, where she posts videos "pretending" to be a witch. She thinks no one will take it seriously.

Good Read
Revisado: 06-06-23
I randomly selected this book and so glad a did. The narrator is so good! The story is well written. This fantasy book reads more real than most books. How the characters talk to each other is very relatable. The book has diverse characters that don’t seem forced in any way. Just an overall great story and narration .

Copy Cat?
Revisado: 12-12-20
There were so many similarities between Mortal Engines and this book. Strikers were in Mortal Engines as people who died and were bought back as hard to kill, empty soul, ghosts. They killed for the “villians” of the book.
In this book strikers were the soldiers in battle....but ghosts were people who died and were bought back as hard to kill, empty soul, ghosts. They also said killed for the “villians” of the book.
I feel like the author read Mortal Engines and then write this.
Normally a huge fan. Could get by the similarities.

Historia
Laylee can barely remember the happier times before her beloved mother died. Before her father, driven by grief, lost his wits (and his way) and she was left as the sole remaining mordeshoor in the village of Whichwood, destined to spend her days scrubbing the skins and souls of the dead in preparation for the afterlife. It's become easy to forget and easier still to ignore not only her ever-increasing loneliness but the way her overworked hands are stiffening and turning silver, just like her hair.

Freaked me out
Revisado: 12-14-17
I really really loved the Futhermore book and was looking forward to reading Whichwood but it was on chapter 18 I had to end it. Spiders coming out of a kids elbow and bugs crawling all over him as a special power. NOPE! Can’tSo disappointed. Enjoy if you can stomach it.
