Powerful and Grabs Your Attention Non-Stop!!
Revisado: 02-10-24
I have been a fan of her music for years and I’m so proud of her for writing her life story. Watching interviews over the years, I’ve always felt that I’ve always wanted to get the whole story. This is the kind of story that could be made into a miniseries on Netflix someday. I really enjoy how vivid her memory was, when explaining in detail where her surroundings was, and the people that she cross pass with. I felt that she was sincere and real and truthful about her life. She was inviting you into her world and I was proud to have a front row seat. I feel like listening to it again. Check your book!!

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Cautionary tale of psychological damage of Hollywood moms
Revisado: 10-05-22
The title definitely gets your attention, but it’s her way of writing that really sells the book. You always never forget that she is human, and she is expressing what she was going through at those moments in her past, and her rebirth and realization that she deserves her own life.

Historia
Mike Rinder’s parents began taking him to their local Scientology center when he was five years old. After high school, he signed a billion-year contract and was admitted into Scientology’s elite inner circle, the Sea Organization. Brought to founder L. Ron Hubbard’s yacht and promised training in Hubbard’s most advanced techniques, Rinder was instead put to work swabbing the decks. Still, Rinder bought into the doctrine that his personal comfort was secondary to the higher purpose of Hubbard’s world-saving mission.

Freedom in the aftermath
Revisado: 10-05-22
This was such an honest point of view from his experience is growing up. I didn’t feel like he wrote a book to be scandalous. Mike simply just wanted to share his story and experiences of how he grown and matured from his life in Scientology to the aftermath. Well Done!!
