Historia
Yorkshire, 1943. Lily Baines, a bright young debutante increasingly ground down by an endless war, has traded in her white gloves for a set of headphones. It’s her job to intercept enemy naval communications and send them to Bletchley Park for decryption. One night, she picks up a transmission that isn’t code at all—it’s a cry for help.

Just wow.
Revisado: 01-26-24
Horrible mistake to listen to this at work.. I’m the receptionist at a law firm and fighting tears isn’t a good look.
This might be my favorite short stories of all time. Quinn is already one of my favorite authors but she did an incredible job on this one. It’s gripping from beginning to end. I wish it was 10 times longer!

Historia
As a young girl, Georgana Woodall dreamed of beautiful dresses, fancy balls, and falling in love. However, when her mother dies, she cannot face a future under the guardianship of her abusive grandmother and instead chooses to join her father on his ship disguised as his cabin boy, “George”. Lieutenant Dominic Peyton has no time in his life for love, not with his dedication to His Majesty’s Royal Navy claiming his full attention. When he sees the captain’s cabin boy being harassed by the crew, he immediately puts a stop to it and takes the “boy” under his wing.

Great storyline
Revisado: 01-18-22
I’m genuinely amazed that this book was a “free” book(included in the prime membership) It is so well written and has a very good storyline. I would highly recommend and I know this will definitely be on my repeat listening playlist.
The narrator is a bit annoying because she ends every single sentence with the same lilting cadence that almost sounds like she’s asking a question. But other than that, the voices she did were great!

Amazing
Revisado: 01-20-21
This book is amazing. It’s a real story, and it’s so well written, you feel every feeling with him. You feel defiant when he feels defiant, he feel hopeless when he feels hopeless. It’s an incredibly touching book and I would highly recommend for everyone to listen

Historia
In the final book of the Wizard for Hire trilogy, Ozzy and his friend (and Rin’s daughter), Sigi, are in danger. They are still being hunted by Ray, the power-mad villain who will stop at nothing to find the formula to the mind-controlling discipline serum - one that Ozzy’s parents created and injected into him. Knowing the dangers that lie ahead, Rin introduces Ozzy to four more friends who also claim magical, wizard-like abilities. Again, Ozzy has no reason to believe that magic exists or that Rin’s eccentric friends can help.
