Historia
Nina - a career girl living alone in Manhattan - offers Travis McGee companionship and the first loose thread in the elaborate fabric of a gigantic swindle. Now, she's leading McGee on a wild and tortuous chase into the decadent world of high society, the ruthless world of big money, and the weird world of hallucinatory drugs.

Reminded Me of Farewell My Lovely
Revisado: 12-07-15
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. I love the McGee books but this one was somewhat implausible.
What was most disappointing about John D. MacDonald’s story?
I think that the villains seemed too 'restrained' to be plausible.
What does Robert Petkoff bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His voice and style seem to fit the character/genre.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Meh. Out of curiosity...
Any additional comments?
Some reviewers seem to not grasp that this book was written in 1964.

Historia
The Buckmaster Gallery is staging another Derwatt exhibition, but now an American collector claims that the expensive masterpiece he bought three years ago is a fake. It is, of course, and he wants to talk to Derwatt, but Derwatt, inconveniently, is dead. Ripley needs the perfect solution to keep his role in the fraud a secret and his reputation clean, but not everyone's nerves are as steady as his. Especially when it comes to murder.

A lot of holes in the story...
Revisado: 04-28-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I will parrot Christopher from B.C. in his review...the plot should be more plausible.
Would you ever listen to anything by Patricia Highsmith again?
Yes.
What does Kevin Kenerly bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Kenerly has a great ability to voice specific affect.
Was Ripley Underground worth the listening time?
Yes...but I hope the next installment will be a 'tighter' storyline.

Historia
The feds want Miami bookmaker Harry Arno to squeal on his wiseguy boss. So they're putting word out on the street that Arno's skimming profits from "Jimmy Cap" Capotorto - which he is, but everybody does it. He was planning to retire to Italy someday anyway, so Harry figures now's a good time to get lost. U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens knows Harry's tricky - the bookie ditched him once in an airport while in the marshal's custody - but not careful.

Great Characters...
Revisado: 03-27-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Mr. Leonard has the best characters and usually has a story to match with few exceptions.
Which character – as performed by Alexander Adams – was your favorite?
Justified made me a Raylan Givens fan but Harry Arno is so unlikeable you have to love him.
Any additional comments?
I became an Elmore Leonard fan late in the game and Pronto is catch up.

Once you hear Joe Mantegna as Spenser...
Revisado: 03-26-12
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
...no one else will do.
Any additional comments?
I enjoy all Spenser and Stone novels, so this was 'required' reading for me.
