Historia
Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare—and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray. Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide—Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade.

Unsatisfying Ending
Revisado: 02-16-25
Sanderson had things set up beautifully for an ending, but because he needs to milk another 5 books out of this for some reason, he gave me an unsatisfying ending for all my favorite characters to let him drag it out. Tons of leadup just for the bad guys to win so we can write another series, just like with the original Mistborn Trilogy. In addition, he got way too fixated on the therapy stuff. Honestly hated this one, which is a bummer cause it's my favorite series.

Historia
Trauma is a fact of life. Veterans and their families deal with the painful aftermath of combat; one in five Americans has been molested; one in four grew up with alcoholics; one in three couples have engaged in physical violence. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent more than three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust.

Incredible
Revisado: 04-09-21
I am close to finishing this book and I have already recommended it to everyone I know. There are no negative words which I could use to describe this book. From the writing, to the consistency, organization, level of comprehension, detailed examples/stories, knowledge and much more, this book is the most put together piece of writing that I have ever had the pleasure of reading/listening to in my life. Not only that, but the information given about Trauma has been life changing for me. This is a book I'm going to be coming back to many times.

Historia
The invaders are coming; the Posleen, a seemingly unstoppable horde who have conquered one star system after another, literally feeding on their conquests. Earth's dubious allies, the Darhel, have given the humans a number of highly-advanced technological devices, including a process for rejuvenating the aged, including trained and proven soldiers who otherwise would be too old to fight. Rejuvenation may give a critical edge, since to survive, the Earth must use every resource at hand.

Fun story, too political
Revisado: 03-16-18
I enjoyed the story, and the hypothetical, what if scenario about the Waffen SS. however, the guest author's political by biases ring through clearly. there's a deal of Nazi apologies when, dismissing the waffen-ss as good Patriots who were treated unfairly by history. Takes you out of the book a little bit. there was definitely some far-right for trail of left-wing opponents, treating them as cartoonish caricatures of reality. Otherwise, a typically good John Ringo book.

Good fun sci-fi
Revisado: 02-11-18
The characters are definitely stock brawny military archetypes, which is to be expected in military sci-do, but the story is a lot of fun and held my interest for sure. The author had very vivid descriptions of action scenes that sucked me in, and seemed to actually have some knowledge of military tactics and structure, which helped make the story credible. The story definitely relies heavily on the trope of humanity as savage, superior warriors, but I found it enjoyable. Would recommend if you're looking for a simple story of sci-fi action.

Historia
The Greatest Show on Earth is a stunning counterattack on advocates of "Intelligent Design," explaining the evidence for evolution while exposing the absurdities of the creationist "argument". Dawkins sifts through rich layers of scientific evidence: from living examples of natural selection to clues in the fossil record; from natural clocks that mark the vast epochs wherein evolution ran its course to the intricacies of developing embryos; from plate tectonics to molecular genetics.

Better on paper
Revisado: 02-07-18
Great book, evidence is well presented, but I would pick up a hard copy. With the audio book you miss out on some illustrations that would have helped with context.
