Absolutely Amazing
Revisado: 06-04-24
I started listening because I saw clips on insta that were hilarious, little did I know just how perfect this podcast would be. I was expecting to just be listening to comedy but wow, she blows it out of the water with her talks of classic literature, art, and so much more. The raw conversations of the hard aspects of life itself are always so beautifully worded, but blended perfectly with comedic takes. On more than one occasion I have ended up having deep introspective thoughts on life after her talking points. This woman could easily be a philosopher, yet she also has the lighthearted demeanor that makes those tough topics easy to digest. Keep up the amazing work Brittany.

Historia
Since the 1970s, FantasticLand has been the theme park where "Fun is Guaranteed!" But when a hurricane ravages the Florida coast and isolates the park, the employees find it anything but fun. Five weeks later, the authorities who rescue the survivors encounter a scene of horror. Photos soon emerge online of heads on spikes outside of rides and viscera and human bones littering the gift shops, breaking records for hits, views, likes, clicks, and shares.

Phenomenal
Revisado: 10-18-22
I have listened to this book five times since I first got it in my library. I love this story, this writing style, and these characters so much. Every time I listen I see the whole hurricane and battle playing out in my head. I'm fully immersed every time.

Meh,
Revisado: 06-23-22
Plot was basically non-existent for the second half of the book. Felt rushed, like they author was trying to race to a conclusion while still including as much graphic stuff as possible. I normally find nothing wrong with extremely graphic storytelling, but that's when it is actually a good way to advance the plot. This just came off as torture p*rn in all honesty, no actual substance to the story, just a gore filled jumble. Would not recommend at all, honestly just a gross book with a less than enticing storyline.

Historia
Harley Altmyer should be in college drinking Rolling Rock and chasing girls. He should be freed from his closed-minded, stricken coal town, with its lack of jobs and no sense of humor. Instead, he's constantly reminded of just how messed up his life is. With his mother in jail for killing his abusive father, Harley is an orphan with the responsibilities of an adult and the fiery, aggressive libido of a teenager.

Historia
“Sam, could you do me a favor?” Thus begins a story that has now become part of America's true-crime hall of fame. It is a gory, grotesque tale befitting a Stephen King novel. It is also a David and Goliath saga - the story of a young lawyer fresh from the public defender's office whose first client in private practice turns out to be the worst serial killer in our nation's history. This is a gripping true crime narrative that reenacts the gruesome killings and the famous trial that shocked a nation.

Extreme Transphobia
Revisado: 07-02-21
This book was going along quite well until the trial started. One of the most blatant and disgusting examples of transphobia I've heard takes place in this book. I had to stop listening. I would have had such respect for this author if that part was not there. Completely ruined the book for me. Extremely disappointing.

I'm a therapist, and I've worked with the wildest internet celebrities.... A vigilante who treated humans as factory farm animals. A germaphobe who warned of the next major plague. My own best friend. A rapist who got cancelled online — and in real life. A psychic medium with a disturbing prediction. And the last patient I ever worked with: The one who asked me to take them off life support. It all started with a big social media festival on a little island.

Forced
Revisado: 06-24-21
I loved the first two books in this series, but something about this one felt so forced. I found myself feeling like I was reading a fan fiction on Wattpad. The story was just far to jumpy, there was no concise line that the plot followed other than the romance. Overall the book was nowhere near the first two and just seems like the author was trying to milk the success of the first two with this sub par 3rd book.
