I wanted to read this book for years and Audible made it easily managed.
The insights at ground level by the Author who was an eye witness (without being a perpetrator) made it all the more interesting.
Almost every chapter the writer emphasizes where crucial decisions might have shifted the course of history which has an engrossing effect.
highly recommended.

Historia
It has been said that this work by Henry Scougal was "almost universally praised by the leaders of the Great Awakening". It is a piece of literature that has been used by God to influence the souls of men for the glory of Christ. Regardless of the times we live in, the great works of the men of God of old are still applicable today. In an age of lukewarm believers, we need the fire of God to burn us afresh and give us a clear vision of his holy will.

Knowing God & Drawing Closer to Him
Revisado: 10-13-18
...is an intent of the writer of this book. Mr Scougal works toward this goal by: establishing the plausibility of God's interest in the human soul, detailing the fruits and value renders to the human soul, and advises paths to draw nearer to God.
I have listened to this book twice and expect to again.
It's a small book, though densely packed. The reader balances expression and exactness well. I think his approach helps with the intent of the author as the content, not the reader, has the prominent place.
Highly recommended to people who are trying to love God.
