Trey Ferguson does an impeccable job of dissecting the/his black Christian experience. If you pay attention, you will find that Trey successfully serves three groups in this book. The three groups are curious black American Christians, white American Christians who are game to play within the rules of the black experience, and black non-Christians looking to connect the dots and learn about the structure of faith.

He is artful in his ability to remain relatable and, of course, human. I appreciate him tackling the battle to stay curious when all obvious influences tend to shut up and think like the rest. I hope he continues to bring fun and heart to all of his works in the future.

The only knock is that I know the author is a former actor. I would vote for him to be the narrator of the next installment. To be clear, the performance was excellent. I just would have liked to hear Mr. Ferguson.
