Historia
Toxic workplaces take all kinds of forms—whether it's a narcissist boss who belittles and bullies, colleagues who backstab and gaslight, "work friends" who drain you with endless complaining, or a culture of overwork and burnout. It can feel impossible to know whether to speak up and when to keep your head down. Do you try to address it head-on, go to HR, or play office politics? The HBR Guide to Navigating the Toxic Workplace will help you set boundaries and change what you can while helping you maintain your mental health and your self-respect in some of the toughest situations at work.

comprehensive and packed with examples and solutions. better than a book that says "get some boundaries and that will fix all of the problems".

Dense, Engaging and Helpful
Revisado: 09-01-24
A really quick and dense book read by the engaging author. It is full of stories, advice, fresh perspectives and helpful exercises for those who don't know even know where to begin when advocating for themselves and their futures. No fluff - just the good stuff! I really appreciated the section on sponsors and mentors as someone who didn't understand the difference. Now I know who I am looking for to help me navigate the waters of growth!

Practical and Eye Opening
Revisado: 05-15-20
This book offers a practical alternative path to sobriety without the dogmatic experience of AA. The advice and warnings are straight forward and backed up with explanations. The metaphors and stories (including an eye opening correction about a rat study) deviate from old, tired recovery cliches. It is positive but pragmatic, supplying just the right amount of encouragement to not turn off a cynic. It will be helpful for everyone from the casual drinker who wants to stop to the person struggling with chemical dependence. The last chapter supplies the reader with one of the toughest hurdles - mental defenses for social bullies.
Bonus: the audio book is read by the engaging author versus a stiff voice actor.
