Historia
This intimate memoir reveals the woman inside one of autism’s most prominent figures, Jennifer O'Toole. At the age of 35, Jennifer was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, and for the first time in her life, things made sense. Now, she exposes the constant struggle between carefully crafted persona and authentic existence, editing the autism script with wit, candor, passion, and power. Her journey is one of reverse-self-discovery not only as an Aspie but - more importantly - as a thoroughly modern woman.

It’s so amazing to feel seen
Revisado: 04-22-21
This story feels as if it were my life written in words I have never had the strength to share. I cried through the whole book- was reminded of so many of the times in my life that left me feeling unseen and like an outsider. And now I know why, now I know that there is nothing wrong with me and have gained some insight into how and why my life has always felt so different.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

compelling
Revisado: 11-14-19
I've visited Alaska once, and fell in love with the wilderness. The history of the natives and their cultures is interesting, including the modern history. Traditional storytelling is a dying craft, and very underappreciated in the majority of modern white-washed culture. Although this contains the shock and awe of more modern storytelling, I think this book provides an opportunity to open up a dialogue about issues ranging from colonization to animal rights and hunting and all the way to mental health and a sustainable existence in a story form that is memorable and engaging.

Historia
In an era of seemingly instant change, it's easy to think that today's revolutions - in communications, business, and many areas of daily life - are unprecedented. Today's changes may be new and may be happening faster than ever before. But our ancestors at times were just as bewildered by rapid upheavals in what we now call “networks” - the physical links that bind any society together.

I recommend also listening to "It Came From Something Awful " if you listen to this book. The connections and insight that the combination of books impart could be quite helpful in this technological world.
