Absolutely loved
Revisado: 01-10-20
Most romance novels either get the adventure right or the romance right. This book was amazing in regards to both and I enjoyed the narration as well.

Historia
Isabelle should be blissfully happy - she's about to win the handsome prince. Except Isabelle isn't the beautiful girl who lost the glass slipper and captured the prince's heart. She's the ugly stepsister who cut off her toes to fit into Cinderella's shoe...which is now filling with blood. Isabelle cut away pieces of herself in order to become pretty. Sweet. More like Cinderella. But that only made her mean, jealous, and hollow. Now she has a chance to alter her destiny and prove what ugly stepsisters have always known: it takes more than heartache to break a girl.

Absolutely loved it

This is the fourth book of Ms. Donnelly’s that I’ve read and I’ve enjoyed all four. This was far different than the Victorian era books I’ve read of hers. Full of fantasy and wonder, I felt completely invested and immersed in the tale.

In Chase Darkness with Me, you’ll ride shotgun as journalist Billy Jensen identifies the Halloween Mask Murderer, finds a missing girl in the California Redwoods, and investigates the only other murder in New York City on 9/11. You’ll hear intimate details of the hunts for two of the most terrifying serial killers in history: his friend Michelle’s pursuit of the Golden State Killer which is chronicled in I’ll Be Gone In The Dark which Billy helped finish after Michelle’s passing, and his own quest to find the murderer of the Allenstown 4 family.

Amazing, hopeful, touching

I’m a listener of the podcast The Murder Squad fan but this book turned me into a Billy Jensen fan. A citizen detective, journalist and victims advocate from my generation, a Star Wars and Disney enthusiast. It gave me chills several times throughout, not due to the crimes but the heartwarming stories about Billy’s childhood, the famines he’s helped and the people he’s worked with. Listening to Billy’s Podcast inspired me to join the Doe Network and the book makes me want to do even more. Excellent story for True Crime enthusiast. I’ll probably have to listen a couple of times to catch things I may have missed the first time. Beautifully written and performed. Looking forward to more books by Billy.
