This short novel picks up where Shadow of the Giant ended: Bean traveling through space at near light speed searching for a genetic cure for his 3 children who had Anton's Key turned.
Shadows in Flight is an excellent segue, concluding the Shadow series while opening up a new landscape for the Enderverse.
While Card does an excellent job filling in backstory details for new readers, it's more satisfying when read as the 5th book in the Shadow series.

Listening to Foundation is like watching Twilight Zone on Netflix. They're classics told in a mid-century style, but feature themes & characters that are still relevant.

Outstanding Performance!

The author skillfully tells this story in vignettes from the perspectives of 3 main characters. Their different perspectives on events, themselves, and each other helps the reader experience the nuances of personal motivations & reactions surrounding the decades-long aftermath of the Spanish Civil War.
The narrators provided authentic voices to the characters, to the point that I felt twinges of sympathy while I still felt angry or disgusted at the character's actions.
The novel took me to a place, culture & time that I haven't visited in a novel before, and I found touchpoints relevant to my own life along the way.

A fun adventure novel. This was the first time I encountered the mysteries of the templar treasure. Berry successfully weaves history, speculation, and fiction into an adventure puzzle. I also appreciated the afterward where Berry identified & credited the facts and speculations from his story. Overall recommended, despite some weak spots in the closing chapters. The text of the lost gospel, for example, is modern and reads like a plot device rather than a 1st person testimony. Also, the narrator's voicing for each character was somewhat indistinct, and I frequently had to jump back 30 seconds to track which characters were speaking.
