Historia
We are accustomed to think of sociopaths as violent criminals, but in The Sociopath Next Door, Harvard psychologist Martha Stout reveals that a shocking 4 percent of ordinary people, one in 25, has an often undetected mental disorder, the chief symptom of which is that that person possesses no conscience. He or she has no ability whatsoever to feel shame, guilt, or remorse. One in 25 everyday Americans, therefore, is secretly a sociopath.

10/10 Would Recommend to a Friend
Revisado: 11-07-23
The writing brought me peace in understanding the horrible people in my life that enraged me for complete lack of morales are sad, board, sociopaths without the physiological ability to empathize or care for others. I appreciated that the author repeated key facts/points... repetition helps me learn and remember. The narrator was fantastic; calming almost smokey voice that was easy to listen to. It was hard to pause this one.

I really struggled to stay interested. This helped me discover a genre of books I'm not interested in.

Not the right narrator
Revisado: 09-07-22
I couldn't get 30 seconds into the forward. No wants to sit through an absolutely dead, robotic, fake female voice with a skin crawling speech pattern. I'm sorry Ms Ventress but you made this impossible to listen to.

Historia
Leland Gaunt opens a new shop in Castle Rock called Needful Things. Anyone who enters his store finds the object of his or her lifelong dreams and desires: a prized baseball card, a healing amulet. In addition to a token payment, Gaunt requests that each person perform a little "deed", usually a seemingly innocent prank played on someone else from town. These practical jokes cascade out of control, and soon the entire town is doing battle with itself. Only Sheriff Alan Pangborn suspects that Gaunt is behind the population's increasingly violent behavior.

Horrid Voice
Revisado: 05-16-22
I couldn't get 2 minutes past the opening. What a horrible voice. Too bad because I would've loved to listen to this book. Seriously... stop narrating for a living. No one with a Boston accent should speak publicly, let alone for audiobooks.
