Historia
For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Pretty much become one of my favorite series
Revisado: 11-15-19
It’s a spaghetti western version of lit RPG but I’m hooked. The good guys always win, the bad guys always wear a black hat, and that’s part of it’s charm. Great narration, simple characters that don’t bore you but also stay predictable- Normally the kind of thing that makes me want to vomit but in this case it’s like rice crispy treats, no matter how sweet I just can’t get enough

Historia
Erik knew one thing after dropping in, when he first saw the numbers before his eyes, the rumors about the "cursed" were true. He was in another world. Survival wasn’t assured. Cultivate, get skills, grow abilities, or die. His old life, as a combat medic, had been hard, but he had learned some valuable lessons. And he wasn’t alone. His best friend, a marine recon sniper, like always, was right by his side. Could they figure out this fantasy world? What does it mean to ascend? How will they master the magic of this strange place?

New twist on LitRPG, not mad at it
Revisado: 09-14-19
I like the idea although it leaves a odd plot/logic gap and how people get pulled in or what the heck that’s even about because if it’s just an alternate universe why do they have notifications and stuff like that. Anyway, call idea overall, a little bit more Whitehat than most of these, Another words the good guys are all good, but the bad guys are all bad.

“It happened fast. Thirty-two minutes for one world to die, another to be born". An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy - abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued, and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. But Special Agent Brad Wolgast, the lawman sent to track her down, is disarmed by the curiously quiet girl and risks everything to save her. As the experiment goes nightmarishly wrong, Wolgast secures her escape - but he can’t stop society’s collapse.

Honestly, just a really cool story and great listen
Revisado: 09-22-16
I drive 1.5 hours to and from work, and Audible gets me through. The reviews that complain about trivial things like made up curse words and the rather abrupt timeline jump are - in my opinion - casual listeners and pretty short sited.
It's a REALLY cool take on the vampire concept. And it's an even better mix of apocalypse, post-apocalyptic, and mystic fiction.
Narration was exactly what this story needed - the complaints on that are pretty baseless. I've heard a lot of narrators, including this one before this book... it's all about context and mood - this guy reads this book the way it was meant to be read and the mood fits the story.
26+ hours for 1 credit? You're crazy not to.

Historia
The magic flames are raging. Blades are melting. Souls are reduced to ashes in the fury of battle. The grand finale of the war for the First Temple is upon us. The last trump cards have been played, the reserves are all exhausted, and even the gods have engaged in the plebeian fight. The universe is on the point of collapse. Broken are the chains that hold the worlds together. The icy waters of the Baltic cool the scorching sands of the Frontier.

Great story but this would be hard to follow if you did not listen to them one after another
Revisado: 07-13-16
This really is a fun story especially if you can ignore some of the odd wording that gets lost in translation, but I highly recommend you listen to all the books up to this point consecutively, or relisten to old ones if it is been a while. The story begins to take a lot of quick turns that would get confusing if you hadn't been listening to all the subsequent books.
The events that happened in books form five are so epic and scope that they get covered at a very fast pace and can become confusing.

Cassie Forrest could almost believe life at Kingdom Come Farm is perfect, with Adrian and her friends at her side and spring on the way. The spring thaw also means millions of defrosting zombies, however, and if the past year has taught her anything, it's that life in this new world is highly imperfect. When Safe Zones throughout the country begin to disappear and the zombies at the fences grow in number, Cassie clings to the hope that if she has the people she loves most, it will be all right.

A little monotonous
Revisado: 05-19-16
The biggest problem I had with this book is that it continued the later trend of book one in getting lost in a lot of the mundane day-to-day life - it tried to make itself into a dramatic series instead of a story of survival

Bad narration & amateur writing ruin a good story
Revisado: 11-29-15
Would you try another book from Vaughn Heppner and/or David Stifel?
No, the writing is amateur. They redundantly use the same phrases redundantly (see what I did there) thought the book. And honestly, the characters are like something out of a Sarurday cartoon rather than a real person with depth. The deepest character (the doctor) is pretty one dimensional, and I almost vomitted when when she "took the oath"...
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
It was just a teaser for the next book. And the very last part was quite literally the icing on the cheeseball cartoon writing cake
What didn’t you like about David Stifel’s performance?
Every female sounded like some kind of smoky bar pick up line. Seriously - "Capitan, the battle cruiser is almost in firing range" shouldn't sound like she's trying to seduce someone. And the guys, other than the line dude with an accent sounded like something from G.I. Joe - all rough and gruff... Except they're all the same action figure.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Meh-ness
Any additional comments?
The story, at its core wasn't bad. Sadly the science was no where to be found this science fiction, it was more "science magic". Disconnects like jump lag shutting down all systems, well except for the shields of course - and mostly because about halfway through the book we realized we needed those shields right after jump to get past another zainy obstical... Anyway.

Historia
Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this piercing work distills 3,000 years of the history of power into 48 well-explicated laws. This bold volume outlines the laws of power in their unvarnished essence, synthesizing the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun-tzu, Carl von Clausewitz, and other great thinkers.

Not for those who refuse to put down their moral compass
Revisado: 11-17-15
The narration sounds kind of cheesy at first until you realize how dry this work would be without that. That being said, this is probably one of the more disturbingly accurate books I have listen to.
Once you take the angel off of your shoulder and put him in your pocket, you'll find many tools that will help you to control those around you.
If you have been successful in life either professionally or personally you will probably notice that you have followed some of these laws already.

Fantastic end to a great story
Revisado: 11-11-15
This entire series was probably one of my favorites in a long time.
And this book ends the storyline very well.
I don't think I will move on to the next book because I know it fallows a completely different set of characters it goes in a different direction, and I know it sounds cheesy but I just don't think I can give up the emotional attachment I add to this story line.
