Historia
It is an ordinary Thursday, and things should finally be returning to normal. Except trouble is never far away where the Thursday Murder Club are concerned. A decade-old cold case—their favorite kind--leads them to a local news legend and a murder with no body and no answers. Then a new foe pays Elizabeth a visit. Her mission? Kill or be killed. Suddenly the cold case has become red hot.

Disappointing new narrator,
Revisado: 02-19-24
I love the Thursday Murder gang but I am deeply missing Lesley Manning. I get the feeling that Fiona Shaw is recording this in a room with a sleeping toddler! Much whispering. Perhaps it is her way of having the conversation stand out, but it is annoying! I heard Richard Osman sing her praises so she must be a friend or something but she has ruined my enjoyment of this book
The one thing I have not mentioned is how the author treats Alzheimer's Disease. One of the supporting characters suffers with Alzheimer's and Mr. Osman shows the progression with each book. It is done with grace but adds a level of sadness to the humor which I appreciate more and more. This novel adds many more characters that I can see showing up in future books. I am ready for them - but I do hope Lesley Manning returns. If not, I hope Fiona quits whispering!!

I have fallen in love with this series!
Revisado: 02-19-24
The Man Who Died Twice builds on the Thursday Murder Club. We learn more about each character. The humor is even more sharp and made me laugh out loud. Since I know Steven Spielberg has optioned the first one for a movie, I find myself casting characters. This story delves more into Elizabeth's background in MI5 or 6. (i believe I heard both) If I am in trouble, I hope the Thursday Murder Club is there to solve the mystery!!

What a wonderful introduction to the people of Cooper’s Chase
Revisado: 01-25-24
I love the characters. Set in a retirement village, it showed what a full life these people have had and continue to have. The twists in the plot were wonderful. The natural occurring comedy was fabulous and I’m looking forward to the second book.

Historia
An off-duty Coast Guardsman is fishing with his family when he calls in some suspicious behavior from a nearby boat. It's a snazzy craft, slick and outfitted with extra horsepower, and is zipping along until it slows to pick up a surfaced diver...a diver who was apparently alone, without his own boat, in the middle of the ocean. None of it makes sense unless there's something hinky going on, and his hunch is proved right when all three Guardsmen who come out to investigate are shot and killed.

Revisado: 09-04-23
I love these characters! This book was great with a sad twist that had me truly sad. I agree that it was nice to have some of the deranged killers from past books. The bad guys were scary enough and certainly deadly. I also greatly appreciated John Sandford's notes at the end of the book!!

Historia
All is quiet in Paradise, except for a spate of innocuous vandalism. Good thing, too, because Jesse Stone is preoccupied with the women in his life, both past and present. As his ex-wife, Jenn, is about to marry a Dallas real-estate tycoon, Jesse isn't too sure his relationship with former FBI agent Diana Evans is built to last. But those concerns get put on the back burner when a major Boston crime boss is brutally murdered. Despite all evidence to the contrary, Jesse suspects it's the work of Mr. Peepers.

Historia
Lucas Davenport had crossed paths with her before. A rich psychopath, Taryn Grant had run successfully for the US Senate, where Lucas had predicted she'd fit right in. He was also convinced that she'd been responsible for three murders, though he'd never been able to prove it. Once a psychopath had gotten that kind of rush, though, he or she often needed another fix, so he figured he might be seeing her again. He was right.

Lucas Davenport takes on Washington
Revisado: 07-29-18
I always like spending time with Lucas Davenport. I have missed the BCA cohorts so it was good to hear from Del, Virgil Flowers and others. I am becoming more and more fond of Bob and Ray. They are a great foil for Lucas and I love that they get perks from working with Lucas ("We get to fly business class") Taryn Grant was the villain who got away in an earlier Prey book and she is back as an evil Senator. I always like the twists and turns that John Sandford puts into the books. I look forward to the next visit with Lucas and his world.

The heist was legendary, still talked about 20 years after the priceless paintings disappeared from one of Boston's premier art museums. Most thought the art was lost forever, buried deep, sold off overseas, or, worse, destroyed as incriminating evidence. But when paint chips from the most valuable piece stolen, Gentlemen in Black by a Spanish master, arrives at the desk of a Boston journalist, the museum finds hope and enlists Spenser's help.

I would first like to tell whoever wrote the Publisher's Summary that perhaps they should listen to the book. If fans were waiting for Hawk - he doesn't show up! Vinnie, however, is in fine form as, of course, is Spenser. I found the story interesting and fun to follow. I am waiting for the next Spenser book.

Revisado: 07-29-18
I am feeling like this book was phoned in. It is short and the side stories seemed to take over more than the story involving Lindsey. I'm wondering if Mr. Patterson and Ms. Paetro are becoming bored or tired of the Women's Murder Club?
