Excellent read

This was one of the best non-fiction audiobooks I've listened to! It really kept my interest through the full book. The author gives a lot of historical background to the story, and I learned a lot about the Pacific War and New Guinea. Highly recommend!

I am very glad I bought this VangoNotes series. The audio is very clear and read well. About half the audio is question-answer type learning, mostly multiple choice although they have different ways or doing this. It allows a few seconds before revealing the answer which is nice. I listen to it while driving, so sometimes pause it. Each chapter is about 25 minutes. I have not purchased the reading material that goes with this, and feel it is optional.

The author tells a charming story from a world of the past. His play on words are impressive and hilarious! I did laugh aloud a few times!
The story is really all about his community as a child and young man. Nothing extraordinary, unless you consider an active happy life in a small town to be extraordinary.

I enjoyed the book, which covers the flashy issues of eBay. However it lacks in any detail information on how the business was started or run: how they partnered with paypal, dealing with internation laws, loans, initial business plan and structure, transition to going public, etc. I suppose that information is a little more boring and hard to find...

Dont stop with the first book because this one is better! It is the best of the collection, in my opinion. The experiences on Mistworld are really fascinating. Often when I'd stop the car I would shut of the engine and listen for a while longer. Really fascinating creatures on the planet, who become important in later books: espers, clones, wampiers, plasma babies, etc. Just love the effects!

Excellent for anyone who enjoys sci-fi

I found this book thrilling! The narrator and various voices and sounds really add to the performance. I felt like I was right in on the action, especially when the Deathstalker takes his "boost," with the thumping of his heart beating in the background. Well done!
Should have bought the whole collection to begin with. Cheap too!
