Historia
Evoking days gone by when coaches were respected as much for their off-court performances as for their success on the court, Wooden presents the timeless wisdom of legendary basketball coach John Wooden. In honest and telling passages about virtually every aspect of life, Coach shares his personal philosophy on family, achievement, success, and excellence. Raised on a small farm in South-Central Indiana, he offers lessons and wisdom learned throughout his career at UCLA and life as a dedicated husband, father, and teacher.

Not quite the masterpiece that The Count of Monte Cristo is…but still very good
Revisado: 02-20-24
In classic Dumas fashion, you are thrust into the world of sword wielding gentlemen, romance, and world politics all tied together in a vivid and detailed story. Bill Homewood is incredible.
There are times when the story rambles a bit and some of the parts could probably have been left out, but it is still a classic for a reason. Wonderful story and though long, still a great book.

Tons to unpack. Great overall story with life lessons sprinkled throughout. Is it the most riveting tale you’re likely to find? Negative. Does it fill you with admiration, respect, humility, and a desire to persevere? You bet.

Historia
In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world. Lansing describes how the men survived a 1,000-mile voyage in an open boat across the stormiest ocean on the globe and an overland trek through forbidding glaciers and mountains.
